It was to do with posters who for minor infractions have been forced from posting and are now using the facebook page to sound off about it.
#bringbackTrueBlue
Sounds pretty "on topic" to me !

Perhaps it was to do with RM's ability to deliver a new stadium ? (Only guessing because we can't see the post).
If so, that was a topic you brought to the thread.

Wrong!
The deal with TrueBlue is nothing to do with anyone but himself and the ShrimperZone team.
LOL. The site is getting fewer posters and the 'ShrimperZone team' decide that banning people is in order. TrueBlue might say daft stuff and rub people up, but he's a good guy and good poster. Sure, some posters can be annoying, but quickly rushing to ban/moderate them takes a lot of the fun and edge away and we're left with little reason to come here (compared to twitter etc). This feels like how SoL imploded.
You know nothing of SOL & why it folded, as I was heavily involved in that as a moderator, so please don't post rubbish
Being a mod is a fine balance act, between what is fun and what is bullying to another, there will allways be cliques on sites, this is no different, and sometimes posting ***** to rack up posts or be a cyber warrior needs a snap decision and if your the one it goes against then it seems unfair

For the avoidance of doubt, I don't use Facebook and am most certainly not campaigning for TrueBlue !
I was just curious why what appeared to be a reply to your post was deleted (by you) before I'd had the chance to read it.
Judging by your message, you have over-reacted to an innocent question.
You might think it's rubbish - but for someone who lurked on there occasionally the moderating was clearly heavy handed (relative to old SZ) and it was a forum where the mods/owners were the most active posters (never the most successful balance IMO).
You're right, I don't know why it folded, but I witnessed it disappear into a few posts a day, while SZ became massive. There was a different vibe between SoL and SZ, and it was a shame SoL folded because it probably did offer something different and was an established site. Since those days, SZ is now very different too (most people have grown up, and we don't tend to see quite as many people coming in).
My general concern is the fact that SZ is a great place and a great resource, but it's getting quieter and quieter:

Clearly social media has taken away some of what a message board can offer/provide.
Once again wrong on many points
We were one of the fastest growing sites, and do you think the sponsors we had ex Southend shirt sponsors would waste time on mods just talking to them selves. Sol travel was started with Pauls blessing which become SZ Travel after it folded, we started our own team way before Shrimperzone, and who knows maybe one day the old mods now old men can get around the table and start again, if so you would be more than welcome to mod for us, but until then enjoy this site
The inside info we got, was sometimes too hot to post and Im sure the mods on here know the same, Ricey was also a mod on Weststandviews which again I was involved in and did a good job, but like many things we grow up, our kids and family become the priority and things that may matter and seem important like football and work take over
I'm sure if you wish to become a mod they may take you up on it, rather than snipe at posters which you seem to do, and then maybe your friends will join back
But be a ware its not just looking at posts that take the time, money canbe an issue but more important is the time

You're forgetting that you're saying that SZ is quieter now (after nearly 5 years in League 2) than at a time when we were League 1/Championship for 5 years. Of course there was more interest then.My general concern is the fact that SZ is a great place and a great resource, but it's getting quieter and quieter:

If you compare the above date for Google searches of ShrimperZone with Google searches of "Southend United" you'll see that both have changed at similar rates.
https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=shrimperzone, Southend united&cmpt=q&tz=Etc/GMT-2
You'd expect the trend to pick up again then on the back of our promotion. We'll have to wait and see if that happens according to google, but it doesn't seem to be busier on here than it was say last season.
Haha I'd forgotten about that. Brilliant stuff.I think the peak was around the time True Blue kept posting that pic of the porn star who looked like Jimmy Walker.
Heady days.
