My View&Scannels RED????

glentheblue

Youth Team
got back a while ago, have to say that im dissapointed at the result, they were poor, just a shame we were poor from set plays AGAIN,to many players didnt turn up tonight for me.

Anyway onto scannels RED is it me or week after week the refs are so inconsistent??personally thought scannels challenge was naughty but 50/50 with there player who also had studs showing, they both went over the top of the ball,i think they both should of gone if one had too, maybe it was my view of it,but to send a player of after 4mins is stupid, and honestly cant believe the standard of refs in this divison, maybe i have blinkers on,just my opinion.

Did anyone else see different???

Heres to 3pts against bournmuff,And Nicky Bailey that strike was sweet and the highlight of yet another away defeat for me.

Up the blues

i thought it was a harsh decision. both players went in at the same time, scannell won the ball and their guy got up and walked away. they didnt make too much of it apart from one guy who ran about forty yards and then fell over. was the challenge worse than the one on black in the first half. the guy didnt even get booked.

I also thought it was 50/50 and if Scannell went then their guy should have. I also agree their no. 3 (Frampton?) should have gone for the challenge on TB, more fouls in the 2nd half and blatant time wasting. Probably the worst referreeing I've seen this season, really inconsistent and totally home biased.

The assault on Black in the first half was a straight red, no ifs or buts. Then, two minutes later, Mulgrew is booked for the tamest of tugs!

What I couldn't believe is the ref sent Scannell off from 30 yards away without consulting the linesman who was no more than two yards away and right in line with the tackle.

Worst of all though and to be that free kick given against Barrett towards the end. Laughable!

Refs viewpoint...

Black challenge was late. Caution. But I was on the otherside of the stand.

Scannell's red card. Never in a month of Sundays from my viewpoint. Certainly not in the same league as Terry's on Black at Orient.

From a ref's point of view he was in my opinion overly fussy, but at times that is what you need to do to stop a game from bubbling over. Certainly nowhere near as bad as the ref at Orient.

Not saying it would have made much difference to the result but how did the ref only add on 4 mins injury time in the 2nd half?

Maybe thats what it is 'injury' time & does not include blatant time wasting especially from the Millwall fans who managed to waste quite a bit of time throwing the ball around the ground whenever it went in the stands.

When a 50/50 ball is up for grabs usually the player who goes in stronger wins it. However, it seems that if a player goes in like that and wins the ball then he is most likely going to be sent off.

I don't understand why the referee did not blow up straight after Scannells 'foul'. He let play go on long enough for another challenge to happen after. It wasn't until the ref had blown up that the lino then started waving his flag

Agreed - Terrys tackle on Revell was nothing short of an assault.

Didnt go to game last night but surely ref wasnt as bad as Orient away

Just watched it on BW, and although I think Scanell was unlucky, I can see why ref sent him off. The real idiot though is the lino, who actually flags for a foul by Tommy Black after the initial tackle by Scanell.

Darryl not really at fault for the 2nd goal, his positioning wasn't as bad as 1st thought. However, the 1st goal was a header from 5 yards out, from a corner that was more floated than driven. 2 years ago he would have probably saved the header, and everybody be saying what a fantastic keeper he is. Unfortunately, it's not possible to keep pulling off those types of saves.

I just watched the sending off on Blues World as well - no wonder we aren't appealing against it, as intent or no intent - it looked horrible from the TV angle...

It did look horrible, it was dead in line with where we were sitting, but I still say if Scannell went then the other guy should have gone too.
