My View on the game

Cardiff were good but we were shocking. What an embarrasing performance. The only two players for me to come out with any credit are Hunt and Francis and the rest id give 1 ratings. I know this isnt going to happen but I'd put Guttridge in for Maher, Sodje in for Clarke and I thought Ricketts looked good when he came on so I'd have him up front with Freddy.

The people who booed Paytner when he went off are all t%$$&rs. If id of been anywhere near these c%&ts id of let them know aswell. He did alrite today and looked one of a few if the only player who looked bothered and tried.

Why do we always look to go wide? When we get the ball in the middle we never look forward. Gower is so predictable aswell, always coming inside and this is why I would like to still have Mitchell Cole here who would run down the wing and put crosses in.

Some of the players out there today just didnt look bothered and I think changes need to be made of we're going to be in trouble this season.

Overall we were shocking. I know the ref was completely toilet today but we cant blame him, it was our own fault we lost 3-0 and IMO could of and should of been more.

Completely agree.

For those that say Cardiff were average I suggest a booking at your local opticians is in order. They moved the ball at pace, created space for each other, got behind our defenders on a number of occasions, closed us down extremely quickly and overall played some very nice football.

Something we all know we are capable of but completely failed to do today and basically got what we deserved.....zilch.

Cardiff looked a quality side and I can see them being up there come the end of the season. That was the first time Southend have been completly outplayed this season.

For an hour Norwich looked a much, much better side than Cardiff. Norwich's passing and movement was definitely a cut above Cardiff's. Cardiff looked a decent enough side but nothing special.

Like the Brighton game (and earlier in the season, QPR) the intensity just wasn't there. If you don't turn up you will get punished in this division.

I thought Cardiff looked pretty good going forward with good movement, but in the first half they were giving the ball away at the back almost as regularly as we do.

I agree with most things here; we were very poor and how clarke keeps his place over Sodje is mystifying.
I disagree however that Cardiff looked good. mediocre at best. Norwich for me, were far better as well as Blackpool.
I will be stunned if they win the league.
If we played like we did at the end of the Norwich game, I think we would have pulled it back and nicked it, even won it.
They passed it around ok, but I was disappointed (and releaved!) that a team at the top were, well so average!
Off to the opticians now!

Perhaps I should have added that I thought Cardiff played some very neat football because we allowed them to. If you don't turn up, so to speak, you can make even the most average of teams look like Brazil.........but I stand by my opinion, they played by far the more attacking, inventive and faster paced football.

I thought we got played of the park today, wasnt that many posistives we could take from the game, maher had a poor game by his standards and i thought that brought the whole team down as he is influental. nice to see hunt start still gutts should be playing as he gives the team a bit more spice and a bit more of the killer ball. francis played well today i thought but credit to cardiff.

Totally agree with the Norwich theory. They looked far far superior than Cardiff, who I didn't really think all that much of. Gilbert, Chopra and Ledley look useful, but they basically wanted it more and looked far hungrier than for some reason we did.
