My take on Tonight!

We all sat ther and shouted "You Fat B*****d at Parkin.....He scored and he held the ball up superbly.
We all shouted "You cheating B*****d at Fagan, he scored and ripped us to pieces with his pace on the wing.
The Hull midfield and in fact the whole team "wanted it" as do all the teams in this league. They close us down in midfield, the defend from the front ie chase down defenders, we do not, we lump the ball up front and it comes straight back, Parkin was always able to hold it and wait for support. They have width and pace on the flanks, we do not.
If you look at tonight the 3 players who stood out were Sodje, Parkin and Mills, been there and done it. Freddy was superb but if I was him I would be thinking what am I doing playing for this lot, no service, no support, I score and we give away soft goals. If I was him I would have my agent on the phone tonight preparing for January.
I really do not want to be negative but it is hard not to be after tonight. We were not unlucky (they had 10 men) we were just not good enough and we were out fought all over the pitch ie I watched from the Easts and in the second half and Francis must have been a foot taler than the full back but did not win one header..why not?
It is time to be hard and make hard decisions, I would drop Barrett and play Clarke where he should play, make a decision on francis and Hunt either Full back or do not play him. We need to strengthen the midfield, Maher is up to it but we need creativity. Pace on the wings, Gower and JCR and a big F*****g centre forward alah Parkin to hold up play and involve the rest of the team and not just let the ball keep going back.

I really want us to survive but things need to happen and money needs to be spent, problem is who wants to come to a team bottom of the championship

Come on the BlueS!!!!

If I were him, I'd cancel the day off tomorrow and have them all in for a lengthy group chat. It's time to get f@ckin' tough, because some of them just aren't pulling their weight. Time to start looking as hard as possible for new blood and tell the players that their places are under threat. This doesn't have to be harsh; rather, it needs to be constructive. But the major underlying tone has to be what I just said. Tilly needs to get them on their toes, tell them they haven't been good enough so far, and if they don't start pulling their weight and wearing their hearts on their sleeves, then their places in the side are on the line. Make them work.

We are simply not strong or tough enough in the middle, and not quick enough out wide. These two areas need strengthening now.

Agreed as well.

I've always been in the minority and said that Parkin is a useful player. Yes he's a hefty git, but the fact is he does a very good job.

You can't argue with his goalscoring record either. People went crazy on here when we were linked with him but he's clearly a good player for what he is.

We aren't good enough, true, but I don't blame anyone.
Being promoted twice in a row was, in hindsight, a terrible thing. We are now a tiny club in a very, very big league! OK Coal Yoo are doing ok so far but next season will find them out, you mark my words.

I must admit Andy when i looked at the programme I thought, stone me Hull haver some decent players, how are they bottom. Probably crap mangement from PIG. But Parkin aka Pizza Man is a good old pro who laps up the jibes. i thought harrold looked promising but you could see the gap oin experience a mile off. You cannot buy experience and that's what we lack. We've got players who may peak in a few years time. It really was men against boys most of the time.

I think experience is the key.
How many of our side out there yesterday have even played Championship football before this season, let alone the Prem. Quite a few only have one or two seasons of League 1 football under their belt.

To answer my own question

Flavs 1 season at league 1 before this season
Hammell a couple of SPL seasons
Barrett 3 or 4 league one seasons
Sodje probably the most experienced
Hunt a handful of Championship games then us
Gower 1 season league 1
Maher 2 seasons of league 1 (and one of them was 9 years ago)
Clarke a handful of prem starts and a couple of League 1 years
Francis a couple of league 1 and some championship games
Freddy 1 League 1 season
Harrold 1 league 1 season

Subs
Gutts 1 league 1 season
Hooper no experience at all

And we were up against the likes of Mills and Barmby on the bench.

Personally I just hope we can keep the whole team together because should we go down I reckon we should bounce straight back and be stronger for it. If we learn soon we will stay up

We have been no worse than a lot of the sides we have played this year. Cardiff were the only ones to play us off the park, we are just making mistakes (Tilly included), which given our experience is natural , and being punished for it

good point Firestorm but how hard is it to track players when they run thru the middle?

2 of Ull's goals came from our midfield not running with their markers, especially their first when their guy had his back to goal 6 yards out with nowhere to go, it was obvious he was going to lay it off to someone running thru from midfield.

You don't need Prem or Championship experience to know to run with the player you're marking

The fact is Hull can go and get players like Mills, Marney, Bridges. We cant. The players are giving their all but just arent good enough. We've tried playing players in differnt positions it doesnt work, I dont think it would matter who plays where. We need at least 5 championship quality players to survive in my opinion, a striker 2 mids and 2 better full backs. But of course easier said than done as clearly we cannot attraact these players, only League 1 players who arent good enough. Perhaps we need to build a team in League one like Col U have, one ready to survive i nthis division.

perhaps we have stumbled across why players who , whilst apprently have the technical ability to be quality acts . Barrett, Clarke, Maher for example. Haven't made it at a higher level. Concentration.
if you switch off , it costs and then you can be a liability

How come - what's going to happen next season? Are our players all going to forget how to play football over the summer?
