Mine have to be:

7 Nation Army - White Stripes
I Believe In A Thing Called Love - Darkness
El Salvador - Athlete
Gay Bar - Electric Six

I can only think of 4 cos there has been some sh*te records out this year such as that Blu Cantrell and Beyonce songs with Sean Paul.

cr*p, cr*p and more cr*p.........

This is a little easier than the album choice:

1. Stone Sour - Bother

2. The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love

3. Linkin Park - Faint

4. Iggy Pop Feat Sum 41 - Little Know It All

5. Bowling For Soup - Punk Rock 101

I could go on as i really liked St Anger and Frantic by Metallica as well as Burn Burn by Lostprophets and Young And The Hopeless by Good Charlotte. There's loads of top songs that have come out this year that i've liked.

Well, here's my top 6 (perhaps my only 6) singles this year, in no particular order:

* The Darkness: I believe in a thing called love

* Evanesence: Going Under

* Linkin Park: Somewhere I Belong

* Blu Cantrell (feat. Sean Paul): Breathe  (sorry Hils, I rather like it)

* Junior Senior: Move Your Feet

* Justin Timberlake: Cry Me A River

Matt

Is it just me, but are all the new songs that Blur have released this year have been, well how shall i put it? cr*p?

Not as good as much of there previous songs......shame really as they can do a lot better than the stuff they've released off there new album.

Bring back Gorillaz

Some of them have been rather 'iffy' shall we say haven't they!?.

I've got their Greatest Hits album with all their old, more rock type songs. In fact the first ever single i bought was Country House by them. Top song that is!.

Why they've gone and changed their style so much i really don't know.

I loved Crazy Beat but the rest of the album is hardly worth listening to, IMO ...

its called moving on in life / having different experiences / getting older / experimentation.

You can't really expect them to keep churning out the novelty Britpop hits nearly 10 years later.

Just look at Oasis, no idea where they are going, just the same old pub-rock bollox......

And the nominations from the WS jury are :

- Somewhere I Belong by Linkin Park

- Move Your Feet by Junior Senior

- Sunlight by DJ Sammy

- Loneliness by Tomcraft

- Field of Dreams by Flip 'n' Fill

- Land of the Living by Milk Inc

- Ultimate Wave by Mat Silver

- Sparks by Royksopp

- Love On The Rocks With No Ice by The Darkness

I thank you ...

WS

Linkin Park - 'Faint'

Darkness - 'I believe...'

Outkast - 'Hey Ya'

Pearl Jam - 'Love Boat Captain'

Queens Of The Stone Age - 'No One Knows'

For all you Queens Of The Stone Age fans, check out "Desert Sessions", which is a side project featuring Josh Homme and PJ Harvey! Quality stuff - try and get 'Crawl Home' for an example

I think some of Mike's selection maybe tracks off albums rather than actual released singles. Come on Mike play by the rules. Remember The Politburo will be after you!!
