Mulgrew a wolves perspective

"They've got an u21 player who scores goals from the left wing. can play left back aswell.

Good deal for them I think, can't ever see why he didn't get given a try this season at left back for us.

Good player IMO."

Sounds impressive to me.

Let's just wait and see and judge for ourselves, huh? Wolves saw him play 5 times, twice as a sub....not a lot of evidence to base their judgments on. He was supposedly impressive when he went on loan to Dundee Utd.

I guess we all pick out diffrent bits

Theres more negative than positive, but we needed a left back and we got one.

Its a loan not a permanent so we get to make our own minds up and can always get another loan in anyway.

Guess we could always play AB at left back, and if we dont get another centre half in Lewis Hunt could always play in that position.

just remember..he's a young left back trying to break into a CCC team..opposition is a little different to what he will face playing for us...we've always got Che to fall back on...he must feel like crap if he don't get a start.

I'm a wolves fan and i've seen mulgrew play in several reserve matches this season and last.
I don't know whether you are using him as a left back or left midfield but from what i've seen this season of him he would be a terrific signing for you if you play him left midfield. Defending is not one of his strong points in my opinion but he is quality when on the offensive. Good control with the ball difficult to dispossess him and he likes to cut inside a lot. Decent pace but good at running with the ball. His best asset is his crossing ability. He has an ability to put in great crosses from the left right into the danger area which are hard to defend against either from open play or set-piece situations.
The reality is that most wolves fans have seen him play in the first team on a couple of occasions in league cup matches where he played badly. I have seen him on other occasions where he has impressed me and he could be a very good player for you. It's not his fault that mick just doesn't like the look of him and overlooks him even when he plays well in the reserves, but i think he'll be good for you once he is match fit and has got his bearings.

Oh dear - that highlighted area doesn't sound too promising, however, prepared, as always to wait and see. Sounds a bit like Hoops in that he plays very well in reserves but doesn't quite cut it at senior level.

I suggest it may be better to wait and see what he is like in a blue shirt on the pitch for us.

After all we've had many experts on here (from Southend & outside) telling us how crap Barnard is. And he doesn't seem too bad thus far.

sorry...previous post was in the early hours..I was tired..Che not available through injury...doh!

I've said this before. Ok, this guys attitude may wel have stunk at previous clubs and his playing ability may have been brought into question but that in no way means he's going to disrupt things and play crap for us. Different managers have ways of bringing the best out of certain players and hopefully Tilly & brush are the guys to do that here. Give the guy a chance for Christ sake.
