On the last day of the season (when we won the title) Ron Martin stated in his speach on the pitch that Steve Tilson, Paul Brush and himself promise that they would not let us down.
Those words still ring in my ears.
Now off to Bermuda,other clubs making good sinings.
I know its early days and those words still rings in my ears but they are begining to wayne...................

Oh, I suppose I ought to add my tuppen'orth... which is simply to ask this:

How many times has Tilson's judgement let us down in the transfer market so far?

Of course you're entitled to your opinion as to our activities (or lack thereof) in the transfer market. And equally, we're entitled to tell you that we think you're wrong.

If you can't trust in Tilly's judgement after two cup finals, a play-off victory and then a League Title... then you really will never be satisfied, I'd suggest - or am I being unfair?

Jeez. Hardly letting us down are they.

They have released no-one I wanted them to keep, and the fact they have been so bold in doing so speaks volumes to me about their ambition to get new players in.

We have already signed two decent looking players, and Im sure there are more to come.

If you have a look at all the clubs in our league theres plenty who have signed noone yet.

Why do people have to be so pessimistic in close season!

I am not moaning at anything or saying we are being let down. This is without doubt the best time to support Southend ever. I just get fed up with anytime someone shows any concern over any aspect of the club the default reply is 'yeah let's sack Tilly and get Chipmunk back'.
I think frustration is the key. People build up hope by saying Trundle has been seen in Westcliff sharing some chips with Che Wilson and when nothing else happens people get fed up.
Close season is a difficult time on a message board. If you question on how slow things are progressing you get told you will never be happy blah blah, and if you are the one defending the club you are seen as up the clubs ar$e so to speak and blind to any shortcomings.
Anyway If I am moaning it's probably due to the fact that my video card spluttered it's final breath Monday and I am trying to RMA the bugger but things just don't happen quickly enough.

It's June.

The season doesn't start until August. It's also the middle of the world cup, when not many teams will sign players.

Indeed. dont know how many players we currently have, after getting rid of so many, probably 14!

If we still have that amount the week the season starts lets complain, in the meantime lets let them get on with their jobs without fussing.

The grass grew ok after all (although Im surprised no ones posted how worried they are its the wrong shade of green)

Of course you're allowed to air criticisms on here. I am just struggling to see why it would be fair to criticise our gaffer's transfer policy recently - but I'm sure you're going to point out to me why I'm wrong.
