Movie Soundtracks......

shrimper loz

First XI
Was watching School of Rock last night and the soundtrack for the film is awesome. Has a really great mix on it, from ACDC to Zeppelin. This brings the question, what do you think is the best movie soundtrack??

Garden State has a great soundtrack, and its a bloody good film too.

Can't say about the soundtrack but ferk me, I hated that film.

Cameron Crowe films have great soundtracks: Almost Famous for a bit of 70's classic rawk, Singles for some superb grunge tracks from Chris Cornell to Mudhoney & Hendrix.

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels is a great soundtrack CD.

And if you're up for a bit of 80s Man Love you can always go for Top Gun. Harold Faltermeyer's "Anthem" is still great to listen to.

Forgot to mention Trainspotting, Lust for life is immmense as is Born Slippy.

The Royal Tenenbaums also has a good soundtrack, especially as it has my favourite Elliott Smith song in it.

Both are brilliant films too.

What I want to see is the follow up to Trainspotting being made into a film which is called Porno. Read the book then imagine the film. Very doable.

Redeemed yourself there Alexis. +Rep for Elliot Smith (RIP).

I know they're not the sort of film you lot would like but Four Weddings and a Funeral is pretty good, as are Cheaper by the Dozen (1 & 2).

Judgment Night (an okish film with Emilio Estevez from the 90's) had an awesome soundtrack made up of original collaborations betweeen rock/metal and rap/hip hop artists. If you like either genre of music it's worth checking out:

1. Just Another Victim - Helmet/House of Pain
2. Fallin' - De La Soul/Teenage Fanclub
3. Me, Myself & My Microphone - Living Colour/Run-D.M.C.
4. Judgment Night - Biohazard/Onyx
5. Disorder - Ice-T/Slayer
6. Another Body Murdered - Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E./Faith No More
7. I Love You Mary Jane - Cypress Hill/Sonic Youth
8. Freak Momma - Mudhoney/Sir Mix-A-Lot
9. Missing Link - Del tha Funkee Homosapien/Dinosaur Jr.
10. Come and Die - Fatal/Therapy?
11. Real Thing - Cypress Hill/Pearl Jam

For soundtracks made up of existing tracks, I'd say the first Matrix soundtrack was pretty good.
