Good luck to him, good to see our youth system churning out players who are wanted by Leicester and Crystal Palace

As others have pointed out, the Mousse is no more a product of our youth team than Cesc Fabregas is the product of Arsenal's. Mousse was an Andlerlecht / Wet Spam youth team product, not an SUFC one.

But he was spotted by Ricky Duncan, and spent a year as a Youth Team player. Not all 'product' has to have spent 10 years in our academy, the scouting system is a key part too.

Reading a LCFC board, it sounds like they've been impressed already with the Moose after a 10min cameo.

Sorry to correct m'learned friend but Moussa played for Southend United's YOUTH TEAM and not those of Anderlecht or West Ham, although I do concede that he played for them in lower age group games.:)

I'm not sure I see the difference. Moussa was a couple of months shy of his 16th birthday before he'd even heard of Southend. I don't see how he can be honoured as a fantastic product of our youth set up.

Because the youth set up is made up of the Youth Team, the academy teams and the scouting network. They youth setup brought him into SUFC as a youth player. I'm not saying he's a product of 5-6 years playing through all age groups... But that isn't just what the Youth Set up do, or aim to do.

I think that's a tenous connection at best, to be honest. We clearly do have links with some of the London youth setups (Moussa came in from West Ham, others from Arsenal) but I think that a player should be involved in the youth set-up for longer than Moussa was (he made his first team debut eight months after joining) if he's really going to be labelled as being another one off of the Boots & Laces production line.

Agree with that, I think it's splitting hairs really. The Youth system/RD/ST deserve praise for finding Moussa and developing him.

Good luck to him, was always expecting him to leave on loan/permanently after Sven and the new rich owners came in.

yeah no surprise, svens brought in some good players since taking over. it would have been hard enough to get in the squad even before he took over. bad thing is donny after going through a terrible run in results. lost again today to swansea.

Feed the Moose and he will score (against Col Ewe).

Anyone know what position he was playing? Would have been interesting to see him up against Marky Gower in centre-mid.
