Ha ha! A new regulation supposedly plus a restriction on the max size of flag that can be taken in to stadia.

I believe the drum was not allowed in?

You don't need a fire certificate for a flag or drum. In fact you don't a fire certificate for anything. Fire certificates were replaced about five years by fire risk assessment, and they cover buildings. In a football stadium's FRA, it should cover things like flags, drums and anything else that can legally be brought into the ground.

Next time you get some snotty steward give you that line, feel free to quote the above. If you are feeling particularly smug (or said steward is particularly loathesome) then feel free to quote the legislation, which is Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

And who said all those years working in a trade union was pointless??!!!

Interesting - that would suggest that only 2 sides of the ground will be open then (if I remember correctly the other side to the main stand has not been "developed" yet).

I just hope they go back to playing "bring me sunshine" before the game - one of the highlights of a visit to Morecambe for me .......... and I hope the wind dies down by then.

They did this couple seasons ago but opened the terrace little bit before kick off,may do this again
