i for one dont believe all this so called wages/contract rubbish - i think that sufc needs money and needs cash FAST - so selling up now will create around £2 million plus.
i read in the southend standard paper that the cuckoo corner junction improvements will be financed by us ??? estimated extra 8 million plus

2 million I dont think so, based on several factors the realistic valuation of our transfer listed players would be around

Bailey 650k
Clarke 350k
Francis 300k
Hooper 100k
Foran 100k
Harrold 50k
Macdonald 50k

Thats around 1.6 million and thats if we sell all of them for those prices without offering a reported 300k for Mulgrew.

Maybe Rom Martin thinks he's going to prison and trying to sell of his assetts befor having to surrender or sell the club.;)

why would we be financing in that ?? Besides we won't have enough money for players and at the moment it looks like we are going to enter the local 5 a side league

Wouldn't be surprised, I am beginning to wonder if RM will bail out once all the permissions have been granted and he has wrinsed all the cash that he can get.

I am suspicious of his inentions.

Share offer, discount for early season ticket purchase, players up for sale, players released, permission for redevelopment of Roots Hall,

Or am I being too cynical?

You could well be right, he is probably liquidising all his assets now so he can then stock pile snout, crystallised fruits & copies of 'Razzle' for when he gets sent down.

It is clear to me that he is setting himself up to become Chelmsford nicks 'Genial' Harry Grout.

exactly get in as much cash as possible QUICKLY

Yes, because we've never had discount season ticket prices before, we've never put players on the transfer list and we've never had share offers before. Yup, Ron is definitely trying to screw the club. :stunned:

it may seem the road network needs to be completed before the new stadium - (us paying for)

? ? call me cynical but i think sufc need to find ££££ fast

Conspiracy theories are all good fun, but it would be a good idea if people (yes, that's you Maudebe) did their research first - even if it is only reading previous threads.

1. We will get nowhere near £2m for those three.

2. If the club needs cash fast they don't fart around, they approach clubs strike a deal and the player is gone fast, and all we have to say is "we had an offer we couldn't refuse". To do it this way is absolutely not going to raise cash fast.

3. The road junction improvements have been discussed on this forum within the past week. The cash involved is not extra but is what was agreed with the council in the initial planning application and the club has issued a statement clarifying this - and until proved otherwise, I see no reason not to trust the club.

I accept that people are entitled to their opinion, but in my opinion this is ill-thought out scaremongering, and a waste of good pixels!

Been done to death in other threads. All been factored in to the plans, nothing to worry about.

Jeez, what is it with people the last couple of days - we've put some players up for sale! So what if they're some of the 'bigger' names?

Are the Man U fans going to start going down this route if Ronaldo gets sold over the summer for £50m - blimey, we must be in trouble, we've had to sell our biggest asset sort of line. Of course they wont. Annoyed he's gone, probably, making it into something it isn't, probably not. Shockingly, clubs do sometimes sell big name players.

Circumstances may have been different, but I don't remember too many people last year saying that we were in financial trouble or that there were dodgy reasons because we cashed in on Eastwood.....

Get a grip people! :madman:

Not when they're desperate for promotion to increase chances of filling a new ground.

What's at stake here is a principal that is worth far more than ANY three individuals, i.e. that we are a club fully intent on operating within our means and we are not prepared to be held to ransom.

Our willingness to hand out overly generous contracts during the nineties had financial consequences that set the club back for years. I'd far rather we look to replace players where necessary, even if it means a temporary drop in the standard of the team, than jeopardise our financial security. That applies more than ever at a time when we are expecting to outlay large sums for our new stadium - something else which makes the importance of retaining a few individual players pale into insignificance.

I think we should just follow Gretna, pack up the club and cease trading... We can all go and support Southend Manor or Great Wakering.
