The worst place i have ever been was Legia Warsawas ground when England played there in 99.

The was firing flares at us all through the game and afterwards we had about a two mile walk back to the City Centre in the dark and it kept kicking off everywhere with pockets of 6 ft 8 Poles attacking you.

Walsall's old ground, Fellows Park, was no picnic. Quite often, Wolves fans would turn up and give everyone a warm West Midlands welcome.

I can recall one hairy incident just outside Bescot station, where said Wolves fans were chasing people, armed with planks of wood with nails at the end of them. After it all died down, one policeman went to check a fan's face after he took a whack. He put his finger into his cheek and you could see it go straight through into the fella's mouth.

The guy still objected to going to hospital though!

Moody indeed.

Its hard to choose really

Millwall away Old and New ground was always heads down boys and pretend you're a local etc

I remember Stoke city away b4 they moved to the new ground, went to Blackpool for the weekend on one of Tony Halls famous away day trips, anyway as we pulled up at the ground Mr Hall ask about parking etc, the o/b asked if we was Southend fans, and said he hoped Stoke win , he said he was not a fan, but they are nutters if they lose !! ... anyway thankfully they won and made a play off place as it was a last match of season ,but still never stop them running across the pitch totally ignoring their players and heading for us, we were been bantered from the pitch and from the stands each side of us , all I can say thank god for the O/B that day and would hate to see them lose that day

loads more grounds that are have been a bit hairy in the past, like Aldershot and Colchester away

One Team In Essex
SOUTHEND UNITED FC

southend manors ground when we played them in a friendly
when that strange asian man, spent the whole game jumping
in and out the sandpit with young boys

A couple of grumpy stewards at Mansfield last year making us sit down without valid reason and chucking some guy out for mucking about. School boy really should at least get a warning.

I think over in the West F block you get the stewards telling you to sit down some games and others they leave it. hard to understand why?

Colchester in the cup away was mad all crammed in and they had no sympathy with us. Ushered in to the ground and police escort away. However this also happened, police escort back to benfleet station. Now that was a long walk! Moody Sods

Definately The Den the last time we played them at that old ground. They won 2-0 but still felt it necessary to try and kick our arses back into Essex ...

I know someone who has a villa in Javea and he has come back for July and August what a mistake he has made. **** poor weather. rubbing it in or what though he has the darkest tan. Mind you, you don't get to watch Southend United live in action and what games you will miss such as thrillers like away to thurrock this saturday. Gutted. England is better lol

That was 94 I think and shortly before they moved to the new ground. On our next visit [New Den], we spoilt their opening day party IIRC [4-1]

I remember that, all i remember was Millwall standing in front of us giving it the biggun.I never found the new den quite so intimidating.Bristol city had a special kind of feel to it.Can't leave out Ipswich or Leicester and so on and so on

Bristol city away isnt exactly very freindly. Went there when nathan jones got sent of for being fouled in the penalty box. Very nasty boys in the park outside!

But i find that swansea always reseverve a nice welsh welcome for us!

for me West Brom on a Friday night when we scored the late equaliser,

Col U totally non scarry

Seen Southend win at Stokes old ground, yes very intimidating

But the Mooooooooodiest ground I have ever visited was Burnley, I remember the whole game just thinking I wanted to go home and have a cup of tea with my mum
