It did cross my mind, briefly and amusingly, that the stunning defeat on Saturday was all a deliberate ploy by TB&M, to create such a polemic that, come midnight on Monday the 1st of September, no one will have noticed that we have signed no one!
So, what are peoples thoughts for tomorrow? Will we have to make do with the squad we have at the moment? Will we manage to bring in one, two
or three players, will we spend some dosh, or bring in loan signings?
I had thought, that perhaps Tilly could create something with what we have, to allow us to muddle through till January............that was...............
..........until yesterday!
So, what are peoples hopes and fears, on what could be the most important day of the year for us?.......perhaps a defining day for this season.

I fully expect Tilly to pull a couple of rabbits out the hat, like he has done on the last few deadline days. I think he has a midfielder lined up or he would have taken on the french guy from Portsmouth for saturdays match. I would love Freedman as well, although i realise that a striker is not priority. Yes, it's all gone quiet on the Christophe front......I hadn't thought that could be because we have someone else lined up........I do hope that you're right........Didn't Ron promise us one or two surprises before the window closed?.....perhaps the return of HRK was one of them?

i personally feel we will sign acouple of completer know ones, for free transfers and undiscolsed fees, after we spent all the time trying to bring the palace forward to us only to turn us down at the 11th hour, in fairness we still are crying out for 4 or 5 players of ability, experence and creativity not all these shiiit no mark load of old cack we are desperatly signinging for free because we have nothing to spend,

We may well sign someone, maybe 2 someones, but the question is, why wait until the last day of the transfer window to repalce players who either left, or were placed on the transfer list, months ago?

I for one hope we sign a center midfielder and Freedman before the transfer window closes on monday, I expect an improvement in the JPT match this Tuesday, because Saturdays performance was just completely shocking.

A loan signing would be nice, however we need a permanent signing too, preferabaly a midfielder!

Foran could have gone back to Darlington except they seem to have brought someone else in and got 6 on Saturday, so highly unlikely now. They really liked him though.

Yes, I think you've got some kind of benchmark here. Broadly, I guess people will be generally satisfied with Freedman and an experienced creative/ attacking midfielder, with the latter being the most important. I fear that the midfielder, if he comes, will be a loan signing.........fear in the sense that we are in the proccess of virtually rebuilding the side, and, as there are so many loan players, this may be something that would have to be repeated in January.........doesn't smack of stability.
No one coming in.........or a couple of unknowns/youngsters and one
knows exactly what we are going to see on this board tomorrow....would be better that M T&B didn't look to check the reaction!

Because we have a good dressing room spirit and with SUFC thats what its all about sod quality!

its like Old Blue Treacle is in-charge, it don't matter if the player is useless as long as he can crack a good laugh and a joke in the dressing room hes gotta play!
