Miss Hawkwell Blue

A quick update on things following Katie's death in February.

I have managed to convert two non Blues, her half brothers, who now sport SUFC shirts with Katie's name on the back and who I hope to take to the Hall this season for the first time.

We did intend doing a day of odd jobs at Little Haven Hospice but despite a lot of interest from SZers this was not possible. Thanks though to all those who offered assistance.

We have so far raised £7,000 in Katie's memory for Little Haven with another £1,000 to come and we aim for £10,000 by year end.

We have organised a "Friends of Katie" cricket match on September 20th at Little Baddow CC (Crewe away) and for those not going to Crewe (I expect we will win 3-1 and Mildenhall will save two penalties) you are all welcome. There will be loads going on apart from the cricket and the centrepiece will be the raffle where two of the prizes are £1,500 of Travel Vouchers and a Cottage in Norfolk for a weekend. I intend to sell tickets in the Spread but not to clash with the SZ raffle!

I would also like to thank again all those who posted on here back in February after Katie's death and who changed many people's views on football fans.

UTB,

Nick.
