The Business
Freddy Eastwood played for 20 minutes but failed to impress the gaffer
in the 0-0 draw against Leicester City. McCarty said of the ex Southend
United striker of his chances of playing against Coventry City at the
weekend "he won't start if he's playing like he did during that 20
minutes"

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy said at the press conference after the bore
draw at Leicester, "No he won't start if he's playing like he did during
that 20 minutes. I believe Andy Keogh and Stephen Elliott are my best
striking partnership - they have been different class. Freddy and Jay
Bothroyd will have to play better if they want to get into the team. How
do they get in the team? Train brilliantly, play in the reserves
brilliantly and be better than the players that are in the team. I
believe my best 11 were out there at the start."

On the match McCarthy added "We were the better side in the first half.
They were sitting back. They had bits in the second half and had a couple
of chances towards the end. And we didn't lose.I always look at a point
away from home as a good point. We are unbeaten for a short spell now
and have played well so let's be positive."

Megson said: "I was pleased with certain aspects of our performance
tonight. I thought that we competed terrifically well, but what we were
lacking was real quality.

"I saw Wolves earlier in the season and they absolutely plastered
Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. I saw them again at Stoke and it
was the same result. Although they have probably have had more shots
than ourselves they have probably had them all from 30-yards.There were
a lot of good things about our performance tonight, but as I say we need
more quality."

This has got to be good for us as if Freddy gets the hump he is more likely to leave and our % sell on comes good.

Yep the best outcome is for Freddy to be successful.

Unless they sell him back to us cheap of course:)

Perhaps this is the kick up the ar*e Freddy needs. Mick McCarthy is no mug and he is showing him that his 1st team place cannot be taken for granted at Molineux like it was at Roots Hall.

Freddy has great skill and goalscoring ability but as we all know can be prone to drift in and out of games and be lazy. McCarthy is showing him that the negative aspects of his game need to be worked upon and hopefully Fred will take this on board, learn and come back a better player.

Come January, Freddy will have had a hand full of starts, be well ****ed off, and Us, Norwich, Palace, QPR, Barnsley, Scunthorphe and Bristol City will be after him on loan...

Or am I dreaming?

McCarthey is a useless **** who is trying to "break" Freddy into his system of ****e football -

Freddy is already CCC player of the month for sept and a star in the Wales team - and a hero with the Wolves fans

its all about ego for McCarthey who has no idea how to manage talent which is why he is mid table CCC after being in Prem and even at a World Cup -

Freddy should get out of there as soon as possible - he needs to be with people who believe in his talent not with ****e second rate managers who want to run him into the ground -

agree in principle... McCarthey is a rubbish man-manager but also Freddy is an idiot sometimes and so it's not looking good for freddy at the moment after such a good start

Exactly. Looks like very poor man management to me ...

Agreed, but equally Freddie needs to get his ar$e in gear if he has serious ambitions about playing in the Premiership. Other managers who might be interested aren't going to look at this and be particularly impressed...

A mate of mine was at the said game - he reckoned Freddy looked sharp and quite handy when he came on. Couldn't understand why he didn't start.

It sounds like the club have a bit of an issue with Freddy at the moment with regards to the incident from a couple of weeks ago. Mick McCarthy is quite forthright in his views and when a vendetta has begun he doesn't seem to let up. His ego is bigger than the club and the players - look at the Roy Keane incident. He treated one of the greatest players in the world like ****. I know Keano was quite volatile, but he needed a quiet arm around the shoulder not the bully boy tactics. I don't think Freddy will appreciate such comments and I don't think there will be a shortage of interest in a guy who has scored a large perecentage of Wolves goals and international goals this season.

Wolves chief wants fans’ trust
Mick McCarthy today appealed for the Molineux faithful to ‘trust him’ ahead of tomorrow’s crucial derby clash with Coventry.

The Wolves boss has seen his judgement questioned for the first time in his Molineux reign over the Freddy Eastwood saga that has dominated the build-up to tomorrow’s West Midlands derby.

But the manager hit back at his critics today by insisting the decision to drop the £1.5m man - along with fellow summer signing Darren Ward - is for the good of the team.

The Eastwood saga has overshadowed a three-game unbeaten run that has seen Wolves show a marked improvement after a slow start to the campaign.

And McCarthy now wants fans to back his side - and trust his judgement.

“Of course I care what the fans think about it - I know they want to see a team thats winning as well as playing well,” he said.

“But I think they have to trust me. If I thought (bringing Freddy back) was the right thing to do I would do it. I wouldn’t not do it just because people are suggesting it should be done. I’m not that stubborn.”

=====================================

McCarthey is in meltdown - ha ha ha ha - reckon hes walking around going no-one is bigger than the club (meaning the Mactosser) -

obviously the players and fans rate Freddy but he has probabley upset the
"gaffer" by not doing punishment press up or some such bollox -

Freddy should get out of there at Xmas - make himself and us some more cash and leave the **** face from Barnsley with a load of kids who will run around like headless chickens as MM shouts bollox at them -

put your feet up Fred - you're worth more than this

I'm more with this thought as well. Freddy was God here. At Wolves he's a nobody at the moment. He might just have to get used to that and prove his potential.
