Mel Capleton was sent off tonight after ten minutes of Billericay Town's match with Maldon.
Capleton raced off his line to disposses an oncoming Maldon forward and completely flattened him. It is unclear whether the ref sent hom off for the challenge or handball outside the area (the ball hit his hands on the way through).
Billericay still dominated the first half, and should have killed Maldon off, but only went in 2-1 up (fellow ex-shrimper Leon Hunter scored one). The outfield player in goal let in two after the break and Maldon hung on to win.
Mel, you very silly boy.
