Matchday Programmes

Maroon Blue

First XI⭐
Must say have been disappointed with the programmes since the Fylde game. Started the season with 48 pages and usual high quality for 3 quid. Appreciate slimmer versions for the Trophy games, but to charge 2 quid for 12 pages, a quarter of the size, was a bit excessive. What has caused me to post though is the last 4 home league games, we now only get 32 pages at 3 quid? Many features gone, including player interview and centre spread photo, so looks really inferior, in the middle especially.
Being an old git and traditionalist, always get a programme, I know many do not now and has caused with costs, some clubs to not even bother printing one now. With all the good going on at SUFC with fan engagement, maybe this is somefhing that has slipped or are we starting to go down that path of gradually abolishing printed versions?

Sorry to use your thread for this but I can't be ar*ed to scroll back to find another more relevant. Don't remember us playing Berwick (strange date for a friendly?) l may well have been at the Chester game, prior to my departure to Brighton

I was there that night , Southend lost 2-1 , it was a week after Southend had beaten Swindon 2-0 in the FA Cup .
Oh! That rewrites my history a bit. Always thought that I went to that Swindon game with a few other students whilst I was at Southend College of Art. However that was well after I had left the College. Nevertheless I'm sure that I travelled down to Wiltshire by car with three or four people including Bob Stannard, a fellow commercial artist who lived on Leigh Hill at that time. Incredible day out. Prancing around Stonehenge (still got the photos to prove it!) in the morning, a village pub at lunchtime and then that game which, against all expectations, we won. Still got the pink newspaper with a front page report of the match......they must have got that out bloody quickly because we didn't hang around too long after the game was over.

Yes, the copy I saw seemed to have pages missing. For example No Shrimpers Trust articles. Could be that the printers were at fault here.

At the national football museum I managed to pick up 3 vintage SUFC programmes for around 6 quid if I remember rightly.

Some proper gems at the museum if programmes tickles your fancy.

I must be honest and say I haven’t picked up a programme for getting on 10 years now.

The club have been a person light in the Marketing & Communications department since Jamie Cameron departed in late December. One of Jamie’s roles was to look after collating the programme content; I know they have advertised for a replacement, so hopefully that position will be filled soon and I hope they’ll look to increase the pagination again at that point.

Position filled as of this week, Cameron Wyper, Jamie's replacement will need to get used to this pretty quickly I guess.
