Match 5

* ORM *

Still Loves Emma Bunton. Roy McDonough is God!
At home 4th v 3rd. We have 3 sunny days so I'm taking the rare opportunity to bat first in the hope that conditions change on my dusty track. Thought about 3 spinners but have gone with 2 and 2 seamers with an all rounder on 5th for a very short spell. Defeat is not a word I want to hear as I would slip to 5th but although I have my strongest ever line up my openers are virtually unproven as a pair together. Ops don't have an all round team but plenty of danger both batting and bowling so I will accept a high scoring draw.

Gatley v Southend (5784693)

Welcome to Gatley CG for the match between Gatley and Southend.

We can tell you that Southend won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Let’s join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

1st v 2nd, huge toss to win here, and a great start:

0.1 W Raipur to Swartz
Faintest of edges, and Chill takes a simple catch. That was a jaffer of a delivery, it was the late movement in the air that did Swartz.

That's about as good as it will get.

Getting tonked at the moment. Need to get amongst them. Even the spinners are taking a hit

Its Bowling Crofty (3rd) -vs- General Stars (2nd)

Partially cloud today and sunny tomorrow so wanted to bowl first, and it just so happens i did that! Great start and the new signing Qazi is paying off with 2 wickets in his opening spell!

End of Over 26 (5 runs). Bowling Crofty: 66-5, runrate=2.54
Overs left today: 84
Richardson 6-2-10-2
Canoville* 11 (37 balls)
Kenworthy 2 (7 balls)

Last Wicket: Field c. Ikramullah b. Deane 1 (FOW: 55/5)

Hmmm, possibly our worst BT 7 days since we started! Sunny day in FC, should be a shoe in for a draw but for the fact my team have been abducted and replaced by a load of drooling vegetables. Defeat here will probably mean FC relegation this season. A long way from the team that turned over Dobcross last season (actually, it's exactly the same team!!).

End of Over 30 (3 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 99-6, runrate=3.30
Overs left today: 80
Davis 4-1-11-0
Wanless* 16 (28 balls)
Marriott 5 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Benjamin c. Olivier b. Montgomery 6 (FOW: 86/6)

We've rested most of the bowlers in readiness for Friday's OD game. Packed the side with batting to try and sneak a draw.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Bobbys Gentle Touch

Mrs BB going well as she looks to increase her 34 point lead at the top.

Highland Chieftains v DIBS DIPPERS

Highland Chieftains won the toss and elected to bat.
Pitch: Dusty

End of Over 38 (5 runs). Highland Chieftains: 87-4, runrate=2.29

Last Wicket: Brijil c. Stride b. Lock 31 (FOW: 80/4)

Bugger me they have a strong batting line up. 2 down and even 5 is a 6 figure BTR. Could be a long day in the field.

Afternoon chaps I recently signed up (about time eh B?), i've had a bit of advice of my bro to get me up and running.

My first first class game today. I'm 2nd vs 3rd.

End of Over 47 (7 runs). Deep Backward Square Leg: 159-2, runrate=3.38
Overs left today: 63
Bevan 6-1-21-1
Danby* 28 (56 balls)
Roberts 14 (25 balls)
Last Wicket: Liebenberg c. Evan b. Bevan 68 (FOW: 137/2)

Wahaay another recruit. Nice one BA. opps now 200-3. I could do with a second bowling point. They're only going at 3 an over so I'm hoping they bat into tomorrow and I perform equally well for a draw.

End of Over 66 (Maiden). Bowling Crofty: 145-10, runrate=2.20
Overs left today: 44
Richardson 10-4-18-4
Bartlett* 0 (1 balls)

We are 10-0 in reply!

Afternoon chaps I recently signed up (about time eh B?), i've had a bit of advice of my bro to get me up and running.
Haha, got there in the end!

We made a recovery of sorts but I can't see my tired bowlers doing too much in the sun.

End of Over 1 (3 runs). Angband Town: 3-0, runrate=3.00
Trail by 172 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 175-10)
Overs left today: 38

Wright 31 (55 balls)
Last Wicket: Hulse c. Wheater b. Qasim 19 (FOW: 43/4)

At 283/5 I thought I had a chance of rolling them over inside a day, these 2 have rather spolied that notion...
