Martin Jol

Mr Wooly

Reported that he agreed to step down before tonights UEFA Cup against Getafe, after agreeing a severance package. Juande Ramos, the Sevilla boss, has agreed to take charge at the start of next season.

Shock horror:eek:, yet another one of those worst kept secrets in football moments, why oh why didnt the inept spurs board just sack him when it was made quite clear to everyone (Jol excluded) that Ramos was their man?

I heard on sky sports news ramos is ment to be manager at the end of the season, Reports also say that poyet is being approched to be assistant manager for Spurs and Clive allen is ment to be in charge of Spurs next game.

All I can say is I hope this happens. Poyet and Allen will bring exactly what Spurs deserve in the aftermath of this episode - relegation. Nobody in the last 10/15 years dared to come close to getting Spurs in the top 5, so to do it twice in succession with such a rabid bunch of fans is excellent. Jol was, in my opinion, the best thing to happen to Spurs since Billy Nicholson in '61, and the fact that they got shot of him so quickly shows what a pathetic bunch of fickle ****ers they are in Tottenham.

Alas, the Premiership loses one of the last remaining threads of dignity and entertainment that was left. Now we'll have to rely on Wenger for charisma. Thanks a ****ing bunch, Daniel Levy. Tosser. :flamer:

Levy is complete tosser.

Spurs would be my Prem team if i had to choose and i have to say, nothing has come as close to success as Jol has and, on paper, he has assembled a damn strong team. That said, he's taken them this far and if this is the furthest he could take them then maybe it's for the best... but if Ramos takes charge next season then it seems as if they're wasting this season and writing it off as a null & void, which could prove to be a disastrous decision...

Ramos is a class manager... if spurs can keep most of the squad until he comes in i think he is the right man for the job. Jol was a decent manager and good value but I think he had took them as far as he could really (he really came under pressure from the fans and board to sign more strikers in the summer but the problems are in defence and midfield!!)
ramos won't take any sh*t and will leave if he feels undermined by the board so spurs have to give him what he wants... if they do then spurs will be a very decent team in a few years IMO

I'm not a spurs fan at all but Jol seems a decent manager and the best Spurs have had for years. I hope he gets another job in the prem league and his new team finish above Spurs.

I liked Martin Jol, but not Tottenham, so I hope he can find a club that will appreciate his talents more.

Echo those sentiments.
Spurs come a close second to the Spammers in terms of my contempt with regards to all the Premier League teams.
However, Jol gets his teams to play proper football and as mentioned above is fairly entertaining in terms of his interviews. He was also complimentary to us last season "How are Southend struggling at the bottom of the Championship? They really came & gave us a game!"

Hardly shocking, but the way Spurs went about the business of sacking him was disgraceful. As several people have said, Jol was wasted on Spurs anyway

And just to prove how much integrity Jol has, he still takes charge of the game last night (and Chris Hughton was still there too). I have to admit if it was me I'd have told them to get on with it and gone home......

I hope he finds a good club who'll treat him with some respect.
