Mark Gower to Start?

Yellow Army

Members
I'm one of those who still rate Mark Gower quite Highly, i don't think it was the Game to start Luke Guttridge today, he tried, but it just didnt work for him, and he was all over the place.
As soon as Gower come on, the game changed, and we scored. Hopefuly Tilly will pick him for Bradford, i feel that game would suit him, and maybe use Cole as a sub aswell, and let Petterfer have a run out, and the orignal team know how each other work, whereas using two new wingers didnt seem to today.
Gower and Juppy seem to understand each other, so does Hunt and Gower.

I would as an attacking option but if we need to be more cagey against a very good Bradford team, I'd maybe go with Pettefer.

Don't forget our away from was as good as anyone in the division last year and that was surely due to being a tight well organised unit.

yeh id go along with gower starting on tuesday in favour of cole. i thought mitch done well but its a big step up from the ryman (or where ever it was) to play straight in league 1. he definately has a big future but id like to see him used sparingly at the moment.

This is what I meant when I posted when he signed that I hope people will be patient with Cole. He's a massive talent and because of the way he plays and what's expected of him, people are bound to pick up on certain things. As time went on yesterday, he was a massive reason why we came back into things.

mmmm.....ok, so have Gower on the left inplace of Guttridge and Cole staying on the right on the Right, so you got crosses comming in from both sides, with Bentley in the middle (his height is good to get onto the crosses) i think the main reason we come back into the game was because of Gower though, within minutes of him comming on we scored, and attacked more. We will need to be cautious against Bradford though, so maybe keep Maher in a holding postion (like the Roy Keane role lol) but comes foward on a majority of attacks. (So many options for once, with a squad of 19 lol amazing)

One thing that prob annoyed all of us was that Vale Keeper Goodlad. You could of gone got a burger whilst you waited for him to pick the ball up and take a goal kick. He took the p%&s a lot, and should of been carded twice for time wasting!!! I hope other team in the leauge don't play like that.

I said at the start Gower should have started as Gutts aint a right winger. It was just like watching Pettefer all last season and we know my views on him!

Don't want to be too harsh on Petts but I don't think we should start with him on the wing, Cole had a fairly good game on Saturday and will get better with experience, which we need to give him. Cole and Gower should start, Petts is an option if we are getting a bit overwhelmed and need to shore things up.

Guttridge is a central midfielder, he looked very out of place on the wing on Saturday...
