Massive games coming up next week when between 9 and 12 points guaranteed to be dropped by promotion chasers:

Gillingham v Crawley
Shrewsbury v Cheltenham
Swindon v Torquay

Only Oxford and ourselves playing teams outside of the top 8

Oxford Utd v Wimbledon
Southend v Aldershot

If we can get a result against Hereford and Aldershot (I fail to have any confidence in getting wins in any game anymore :) ) then we will be in a very good position, fail to do so and make the most of the fixtures then we will be looking to get results against Oxford and Torquay....

One simple post that points out the emotional rollercoaster that we are about to ensue. HOLD ON EVERYBODY! :omg:

at the end of the day, i pray for a Swindon win, as lets face it, they are no longer competition, and can run away with the league as far as i am concerned.

Tomorrow is also a big night with an out of form Crawley @ home to Aldershot, and Torquay playing away to Rotherham, who are bound to be buzzing after getting there first win in 6 on Saturday.

Or, to put it another way...

Wow, ultimate glass is half empty view. I would be delighted if only 6 points were gained between them all, that would be a fantastic day for us.

This is the best set of fixtures we could have. On any other day everyone of our rivals could pick up points, on this day at least 3, may be even 6 of them will drop points.

Hopefully Swindon will win and the rest draw....

Think March will sort out a few teams at the top, particularly Cheltenham.

Home v Gillingham 17 March
Away v Shrewsbury 20 March
Home v Oxford 24 March
Away v Southend 30 March

Unless they can get something out of that lot can see them looking at best at ending the season in the playoffs .

Oxford's form is a bit mixed & they are a few points behind us. Hopefully they can stay there.

Torquay have been in fairly good form of late but have four away (incl. Swindon 20 March) & one home game in March - could still be a threat.

Creepies seem to be out of from and need to pick up points soon if they are to stand any chance of top three. Think they may have blown it (or should I say hope thay have).

That leaves Swindon, Shrewsbury and us.

Swindon will be going up - can't see them failing now.

Shrewsbury look like they might make it but seem to be relying on home form.

That leaves us - and who would want to put money on us succeeding or failing? Really haven't a clue whether we can get the points or blow it completely. Either outcome seems equally likely/unlikely** (**delete as appropriate!)

Think top three will be

Swindon
Shrewsbury
Southend or Torquay

Just wondering, who would have taken this position, at this time of the season, if offered at the start of the season ?

Probably me for one, the trouble is up until a couple of months ago we were doing so well and an automatic place seemed guaranteed. Now we arrive in this position on a run of dodgy form and none of us are sure if we have a good spell left in us (perhaps obl could oblige with one of her spells on our rivals)

Anyhow assuming Swindon are pretty much home and dry and Shrews keep up their home form, I think Cheltenham and Crawley at the moment seem most likely to blow it (along with ourseves) so am hoping for Swindon and Shrewsbury wins when playing the others and of course us.

Crawley have the worst form out of all contenders

If we don't fancy our chances then don't think they can either.
