What's everyone's predictions? I think Arsenal will probably edge it but should be a great game.

Both teams to score and an Arsenal win looks a decent bet to me. May have a note on it

Who cares? Not me.

A lot of people think that about the drivel you post.

The results have gone their way this weekend so for Manchester United a win is a must and for Arsenal the same as they can start to build up a lead on the others.

I'm in limbo and wouldn't be too bothered either way as I like both teams and want either of them to win the title.

Touché,I'm sure.:raspberry:

Thanks for that.

A lot of reports this morning seem to have drawn the conclusion that yesterday's result proved that Arsenal are in desperate need of another striker. While I don't doubt that that's true, I think yesterday was more a demonstration of how Arsenal are one injury at the back away of being considerably more fragile. Mertesacker's been incredible this season - his performance against Dortmund was simply sublime - and his absence yesterday meant that Rooney and Van Persie had a far easier time of it. Vermaelen's a shadow of the player he was two years ago, and who else is there? Jenkinson could probably do a job there given his height, but that'd be fixing a very circular peg into a square hole.

Arsenal lacked incision because Ozil was poor and Mertesacker's absence caused a fair bit of uncertainty, allowing United to break and counter more effectively.

On the flip side.

Jones was immense at DCM (and also when he dropped back). Vidic seems to have found form before going off dazed & confused after a collision.

Also, Smalling was quality at right back. Not the most attacking (Moyes has been working hard to allow Evra to find advanced positions) but he was excellent defensively. He should have buried an incredible free-kick from RVP.

I still think Kagawa flatters to deceive.

I still think the one valid criticism of Moyes this season is his persistence with Kagawa out on the left. Why constrain a player in such a way by shunting him into an unfamiliar position where his influence is peripheral at best, particularly when you have two natural wing options in Zaha and Nani sitting on the bench, if they're included at all. Kagawa's wasted out there, and it's clearly affecting his game and confidence. God knows what Nani must think, as on his day he's a constant thorn in defenders' sides.

Jones, Smalling and Evans performing so well as a trio will hearten a lot of United fans I'd imagine, particularly given Ferdinand's recent displays which have been diabolical.

Nani only very recently signed a big contract, and now is a forgotten man. They must be trying to cash in.

Now he's signed up as a pundit for the BBC's World Cup coverage, we can look forward to a whole summer of them!

Aye, I think this is definitely his last season, so we can look forward to him becoming a bonafide celebrity presenter and chucking '#5' caps at every idiot who'd wear one.

You could always ban me.:dim:

I am but a mere mod and have no such powers. Anyway, you do post some sensible stuff very occasionally :winking:

People posting in threads they don't care about is just one of my bugbears. E.g. threads about video games are ones I go nowhere near as I've nothing useful to add.

Stop trying to ruin threads where you have even stated you've got no interested in the subject. It's so ****ing tiresome.

I wonder if Smalling or Jones will stake a strong claim at CB, because both seem to be turning into competent RB and DCMs respectively. Vidic isn't getting younger, Evans is decent but probably not CL class. Next season could be quite interesting with a very new/young defence.

My son is working the Manchester derby i think(hawkeye) so hopefully he will not let any United goal line goals count.
Not a great prem fan but it is great to see other teams at the top of the pile.
