Making DVD's

Have decided to start making DVD's from my own films etc.
Who uses what software to make DVD's ?, can you burn them straight to a DVD with that software etc etc. Can you make interactive menus with it and chapter selections etc.

I can get hold of a copy of Adobe Premier and After FX but not sure if I can export from that to a DVDformat?

(TDRTFM)

thanks in advance to anyone for help.

I use Pinnacle and that does the everything you asked about including some great FXs.

I am sure McScriven has mentioned Premier, IIRC he liked it. I am sure such a package will allow you to burn the films direct to DVD, so you can play on DVD player.

However you will need to check what format your DVD player can take i.e DVD-R or DVD+R.

A good place to check is here!!

DVD-labs for my creating of menu's etc...

And Nero for the burning
Similair to me, Premiere is great for the editing and adding of effects and I use Pinnacle for the creation for the menus (it came bundled with my DVD drive).

If you are capturing from VHS or such like then you can edit the avi's or MPEG's in Premiere (you will need the MPEG plus in if you are doing those).

The all you need to do is render the movies as MPEG 2 in Premiere and then I import these into DVD labs to create my menus etc... then I burn with Nero.

Thanks everyone, soon as I knock something up i'll upload it.

Yeah just couldn't get to grips with it and the tools I found did the job better I felt.

Not surprising if you could not get to grips with it.

Does anybody know of a software tool that I can get hold of which specifically has Super8 style effects?

I thought my camcorder came with this but it appears the spotty herbert from Curry's sold me up the river!

Any help much appreciated!
