maher

While sat in the family stand on saturday maher walked past and ignored the kids shouting his name for an autograph, about 10 minutes later he walks past again on his way back to the East stand again the kids in the family stand (RBS West Stand) call out his name holding out programmes for him to sign again he does not even look in there direction. but 10 feet away he stops and signs an autograph for someone in the south lower and again he stopped behind the goal and signed a few more. My 10 year old son turned to me and said "He's Ignorant".

Thanks to Frankie Banks, Welch and Elvis J Eel for signing his programme.

Absolutely, my son was a mascot for an away game and not once did he acknowledge him, put his arm round him, hold his hand and just totally blanked him. Bit different if Barrett was captain i bet, however i shall forgive him this time and let him take over from Lewis Hunt on Friday!

a lot of the players have said that he is quite shy, which can be mistaken for arrogance, but yeah there's no excuse for blanking people.

Bet he won't be shy to Mr.Dugoid when we play them again!

Spoke to him in a nightclub once and he was a really nice bloke and seemed happy to talk to me and my mates for a good hour or so.

reminds me for some reason about a story I heard about Jock Stein. He called 2 players in for a dressing down (I think one was Jimmy Johnsom) The dispute was about giving an old lady in a pub their autograph. The players protested that they had given the old lady their autograph. "That's no the point said the big man, you made her wait".
They never did again.

I think it may simply be the way Maher mentally prepares for a game. He wants to be focussed and finds distractions difficult. Other players thrive on it. He might also be worried some wag will have a pop. I believe a lot of the abuse has comes from some fans who go in the RBS without kids. I've heard some of the language there has been pretty rank. He may feel more well disposed to the South stand.

My children have been at Boots abd Laces a few times, and had pictures and autographs with Kevin, and he's always been charming.

maybe kev = gary neville style captain (watch him in the tunnel before leading a team out, quality!) where as others are like thierry henry, laughing and joking before a game.. to be honest i couldnt care less if kev likes to be in the zone before a game, but obviously after the game and during the week he is an ambassador for the team and has a duty to be friendly and sign autographs

agreed. If he was as stand offish away from the match there is no excuse.

Yes Kev did walk past the R.B.S stand with billy paynter on Saturday, and he did stop to sign some autographs, which is alot more than players like luke guttridge,J.C.R,lewis hunt, M.cole, jay smith and F. Eastwood have done put together    ( shamefull).

I filled my car up in the Shell petrol station along the A127 next to Stan Collymore many years ago now. That was before any of these dogging issues came to light. Thankfully it was in broad daylight so I was quite safe!
