Maher testimonial

Did anyone read last night's London Lite?

In the little section about SUFC, it said the club were lining up West Ham for Mahers testimonial game.

Anyone heard anything about this? Is it a separate game to the forthcoming friendly?

Interestingly, the freindly was listed as such later in the same section, so perhaps it's going to be a different game?

Given the depth of anti West Ham sentiment on here, would anyone go?

i think they are probably confusing this years game with the Testimonial

i should imagine that Spurs would be Captain Kev's choice for his Testimonial match

I would go yes, but thats only to see Maher. I thought it was Tottenham he wanted and the club were going to their best to get them. I think Tottenham are happy to play as well. It's not till next season at the earliest so i wouldn't have thought they'd already be sorting it out.

I think part of Maher's contract stipulates that his testimonial is played in the new stadium so it's definitely not the forthcoming match and I agree with others that I would suspect it would be against Spurs.

Cant see that being the case, what if the stadium was postponed 5 years ?

The plan was the first game at the new stadium would be Mahers testimonial, but that was based on the opening being 2008, now its going to be later Id say the testimonial would be at Roots Hall.

the same London Lite that said on Monday Tilly was after Luton striker Calvin Andrew. Wonder where they get their info from ?

Does Maher truly deserve a testimonial? No.

take this:finger:

Prove he can cross a ball. Not have 10 yellows and 2 reds a season, prove he can actually play football full stop.

Actually you have a point... i mean as our 'sitting' CM man he's always getting to the byline only to fail with his cross :thump:

I can't argue about his card collection !!

Oh, and your final point was just boring :guns: :guns:

Maher deserves a testimonial, and I'd like to see a bare-knuckle fight between Kev and Karl Duguid at half time. Just to settle the score.

I much prefer to see adam Barrett and Kevin Maher having a fight over the captain's armband.
