I'm going to the Maharaja Indian restaurant tonight in Benfleet, but never been in there before. It's for my mates hen party and they have a disco in there too. Anyone been in there, and also whats the food like?

Never been there, but it's owned by the same people who run Le Raj in Leigh (currently closed) and the food there was always top drawer.

Personally I've never been keen on the Maharaja, didn't really like the food or service.

The Tandoori Parlour in Thundersley is miles better IMO.

I have been many time having lived in Benfleet for 30 odd years. Food at Maharaja is really good. Last time i went though was a while ago and Jeff Allen (former Announcer at SUFC) was DJ for the night.

the best Indian in Benfleet by a long shot is the Muz Mutal (sp) at the bottom of Essex Way.. legendary food and service

It's not bad ...but the best Indian in the whole Southend area has just opened in Hadleigh called the "Masa", it's on the A13 opposite lidl's

I went the other night with a lady friend .....It is completely different class from anything outside of London....Try It, if you can get a table, I can't recommend it highly enough 5 Star!

It is classy yes and very friendly, they also have an upstairs... It isn't by any means expensive For two about £40 and that included about 4 glasses of wine each, No starter though as I have to watch my modelling figure.:angel:
The portions are not huge but come in nice White bowls not tins, there is no oil swimming about and the menu is nothing that you would see in the normal run of the mill Indian Restaurants.

Lovely place, you must try it Ben, even if you are a tad common.:finger: :hilarious:
