Luke Guttridge

Yellow Army

Members
we really are missing him, more then we think, since he's been injured we've been on our 'blip'. how long till he's back.

on another note, i feel sorry for mark gower today, he had a really good game, and hit the woodwork, its a shame that it was all tarnished by recieving the ball in the wrong space and losing possession, but his performace has improved. I think goater was on too long today, Freddy was on his own for most the game,

how lucky can one team be - we hit the woodwork twice, and numerous chances that somehow stayed out, the tw&t in the middle of the park - some call it the Ref, who made some of the worst decsions i've seen, aided my two idiots running down the side, who chickened out of decisions.

agree , Luke has probably been our best player over the season and has been a huge loss, lets hope he comes back quickly

Did you? I thought you were pretty average myself.

On the point of the ref. I didn't feel he was too bad, although he should've done something about Quinn, the biggest cheat to visit the Hall in recent memory.

Despite his size, Guttridge has been a big player for us this season.

I also suspect that its been no coincedence that Maher has lost all form since Guttridge got injured.

I'm not surprised our recent slump has co-incided with Guttridge's injury. He's consistently been our best performer this season and we clearly miss his presence.

Recieving the ball in the wrong place? Where was he supposed to recieve it? In the bloody Fish house?

He was having a good game up until then, but I think he had plenty of time on the ball (obviously far too much) and should have got rid of it earlier, it needed a simple pass!
He lost us the game trying to do too much.

i think he generally always looks like that

i was at the players sponsor do last season and he looked very bored and disinterested then even though the other players were all laughing and joking with the sponsors

I agree he made a mistake, but the forward still had to run half the length of the pitch to score - wasn't only Gower's fault.

Obviously I was wasn't there and only listened to the coverage on BW, but I rarely think it's the fault of one player that a team fails to win a game and is rather harsh.

You could argue that our finishing contributed to the loss... and the Dons 'keeper... or Prior... or the ref... Maher... JCR love affair with keeping personal possession of the ball... the list just goes on.

Gower was having a good game until that point - he tried taking on that guy ( name escapes me ) in the middle of the pitch, got mugged, then his head dropped for the rest of the game. He really shouldn't have been taking people on when a simple pass was on all around him.

and I spoke to Gutts before the game, he reckons he's 'two weeks away' from full fitness

Maybe not, but he left us exposed. There were more of them forward than we had back, making it difficult for the defenders to make a challenge. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't in situations like that. All Gower had to do was go outside rather than try to cut inside and therefore in to trouble.

Having said that, I thought he had a very good game yesterday.

Sorry, but it all comes down to the fact that Gower messed around with the ball and lost it in a bad position, when all he had to do was play a simple ball!
That led to thier goal (which was well taken) and in turn lost us the game. Mybe you see it a different way, we will have to agree to disagree!

JCR's been our best player over the past few games and certainly wasn't selfish with the ball yesterday, I think Tilly/Brush are gradually trying to knock that out of his game. Will be a big asset for us between now and the end of the season.
