Luke Guttridge

Yellow Army

Members
Today i was really impressed with Luke Guttridge. His through balls, and over the top passes will brilliant for the Goat to latch onto. It seems Shaun prefers the ball comming of the top, with two great goals comming from them.

Goats also impressed, infact it was one of them days that no-one really had a bad game. And we're all happy anyway as we beat the scum 3-1

I've given MoM to Gutts in the SZ Match report, which will be up later today

What? The same day as the match itself? What's happening to SZ these days?

Have to agree Guttridge was MOTM, shame he missed fom 3 yards with afree header? ( How did he miss )

Once again Flavs is proving why he is number one keeper, absolute blinder again, confident when coming out, must be a boost for the defenders.

Is it me or do others think Adam Barrett is not the player from last season, seems to be making more mistakes when under pressure ( Not that he's poor in any way ), I just feel this league isn't as easy for him as I and I suspect others thought it would be.

Special mention to Maher, who is having a dream season, and for once was rollicking the defence good to see him being vocal .

For those that missed the game it was a cracker and lived up to all the hype of a local derby

Great match to watch and enjoy

cheeky!

it's the new look SZ - we've sacked Napster!

'busy'. Plus he's been busted for being on the Zone at work too often!

Gutts was stupendous today. Can really see why Charlton were about to fork out all that money 12 months ago. It was a real shame he picked up that knock when he tried to unleash a shot from 20 yards because everything he did after that went wrong.

Looks a very shrewd signing now he's fully fit.

I'd say it was the case for all our defenders. The step-up in class in this league is really shown by the fact that they don't look quite so calm, confident and skilful as they did when in League Two. This afternoon, for example, they seemed to be giving the opposition far too much space and were giving the ball away too easily in the first half.

I still rate Barrett, Edwards and Prior, but I somehow don't feel nearly as confident about them as I did last year. I just hope they'll start getting into their stride a bit more.

Gutts was excellent today, easily man of the match. We should also stick with Cole and Gower on the wings, we looked much better going forward from midfield today compared with when Petts plays.

Thought the defence was pretty good today, they seem to be gradually adjusting to the step up. Have faith, they'll come good!

The positive thing is we are getting points and players like Barrett and Eastwood who most people thought would dominate the league, haven't yet lived up to expectations, so perhaps the best is still to come from the team

I thought Gutts played excellently, except for that sloppy period half way through the second half, which I think is probably why Tilly took him off.

Just over 100 minutes to go - plenty of time

I predict Guttridge to be the little gem this season, I also see Gower getting back to his wonder season days. I see Barret jittery but getting back to his Rock Solid ways. I see Maher being Maher and me never ever ever winning a chance to shoot for the car.

Excellent point. Although you expect players' form to ebb and flow, if we can get other in the team playing like they can to complement the rest of the teams' performance then who knows.

From what I've seen, there's been too many lapses at the back that have been punished. If we could get these out, most likely with the introduction of Hunt and a return to utopian form for Barrett, who knows what we could do this year.

Still, we've beaten Col U 3-1 with Goat scoring twice. I'll be smiling when I sleep, smiling when I wake, smiling on the 7.02 to Fenchurch St and smiling when I realise how much work there'll be after taking Friday off (just about!).
