Question Loughborough University

Nick Prawnby

First XI
My lad is 17 and wants to do a Maths degree.
We are off to Loughborough Uni on Friday for their open day - any comments people?

And Warwick Uni on Saturday ditto

Thanks in advance

Didn't sufcintheprem go there? Send him a PM, Nick. Loughborough is synonymous with sport, so far as I know; if he's good at sport, he'll go far!

yeah sufcintheprem went there. I went to the University of Leicester, and LSE.. and I work at the Uni of Sheffield. any questions fire away!

I went to a few nights out in Loughborough and it's a great uni. The downside is that it's basically a campus in a small town... there's not much apart from the actual uni, although leicester and nottingham are only about 15mins away on the train.

How about actually ****ing studying rather than worrying where your next snakebite is coming from

Tax Dodgers!!! :cricko:

highly recommend warwick for a maths degree. two close friends did their maths degrees there and thought very highly of the place. on both the teaching and the socialising points.

i went on the open days with my friend when she was chosing. we visiting guildford, bristol and warwick. warwick was my favourite after being dragged round on those days. she did treat me to a steak meal at each place tho, so not a bad day! ;)

I did indeed. Any specific questions? I lived with one lad doing maths and management and coincidentally live with another one now. I think they do the same sort of modules but obviously the straight maths element is covers the subject in more detail.

my ex went to Reading uni to do a maths degree, she also studied statistics...tbvh, i know not much more, cos I was only interested in shagging her, not the education.

Thanks for the comments everyone, obviously we have to go and have a proper look, just needed a general vibe.
Both Warwick and Luff will be given a chance to impress us, if they're lucky then one will have the good fortune to teach a Shrimper.

Thanks again

i think the main thing is to go on your childs gut instinct. there is a lot to weigh up, but the main thing is to make sure that your son/daughter feels instantly happy with the place
