Only think of upgrading to a 360 elite if you only have a 360 core, otherwise it's a criminal waste of money.
PS3-wise, there's few decent games out for it at the mo so it's probably best to wait for it to come down in price a bit.

I have both and since getting the PS3 on lauch day the only games I have played on it are Virtua Tennis 3, Resistance, and Heavenly Sword.

Whereas, I have played alot more games on the 360. But...

I like the fact that the PS3 marketplace has alot more high-def trailers to download (as long as you setup an american account) compared to the 360 version.

I also bought the PS3 as a Blu-ray player as well. So on that score I am very impressed and haven't regretted the purchase.But if it was just as a games console it would have been a complete waste of money!

As for the 360 (core or premium) and updating to the elite I think it is a waste of money unless you don't have an existing 360. If you need more HDD space buy an external drive for £80 which hold 500 GB. Even if you own a 1080p HDTV going from the component or VGA connections of the 360 to the HDMI connection of the Elite the noticeable difference isn't going to be huge as the 360 games are many in 720p. Plus you can output 1080p on the older 360s.

I will only upgrade to the Elite if my 360 dies and Microsoft can't fix it.

But within the next six months, Pro Evo, GTA IV & MGS4 will all be out on the PS3. Ok, two of them will be out on the 360 too but the gap between the games catalogues will be closing shortly.

I downloaded Track and Field on my Xbox 360 the other day, OH MY GOD I really do suck at it. I can go round killing aliens, drift Ferrari's at 100mph round corners and even sniper someone from half a mile away.

But I just can't seem to concour the long jump! :(

The PS3 is currently a) too expensive, and b) has too few quality titles. HOWEVER, over the last two generations of console, the Sony machine has been the undisputed market leader and for good reason. The price will drop, the games will improve massively as the developers get to grips with the operating capabilities. No contest in my eyes - the 360 is good fun, and has a year's head start (plus the online elements are better atm), but it's just a bit of fun. The PS3 is one serious console and will slowly outstrip the 360 in every aspect.

That isn't fact though, or if it is then it's down to the games at the moment and not the machine. The PS3 is a far more powerful machine and is again going to dominate the market as soon as developers get to grips with what it can do. Whilst for the next year or two most of the big games will be out on both systems I don't think that will be the case for long. Rockstar have already complained about the problems of trying to programme on both machines when the Core XBox that the have to programme for simply can't compete with what the Sony machine can do.

Plus you can't seriously play Pro Evo on anything other than a Playstation so it wins by default anyway.

Track and Field - many happy hours with very few 10 pennies spent down the arcades in days of yore, along with Space Invaders, Asteroids, Defender, Missile Command and Star Wars (from memory only in 1 arcade). Not forgetting the Big Ben fruitie - which was rubbish ! and the boxing game we reminisced about on here a year or so back.
