What a phenomenal girl.

Runs a little over 26 Miles in 2:17:42 and she still had time for a toilet stop
biggrin.gif

She also finished over five minutes ahead of her nearest competitor!!

And how fresh she looked once she crossed the line.

She sure is an inspiration to everyone. Makes you proud to be English!

Well done Paula on another victory!

PS Her Autobiography is well worth a read too!!!!

I started reading it, but gave up half way through.

For one minute I thought you were talking about our very own Harry Barris.

Do you think Harry Barris has finished it yet??

I am not sure his training for this years event meant spending every Saturday night in Reflex, even last night.

I wonder if he will let Floella Benjamin beat him this time.

Harry Barris finished just behind the first rhinocerous, but slightly ahead of Floella Benjamin.

anyone see the Harris on TV at all? ( He was wearing the Trust LDV Final shirt from last year )

So, Paula Radcliffe can win marathons when she is being paid hundreds of thousands of pounds in appearance, prize and sponsorship money.

Just think how many scratchcards had to be scratched to send Paula over to Greece to 'compete' in the Olympics. Pity she didn't put the same effort in then.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Great Britain should cancel the passports of any of our Olympians who fail to win a medal and refuse to let them back into the country as a punishment for humiliating the country on the world stage. They will only be allowed back into the country once they have paid back all of the expenses incurred in sending them to the Olympics in the first place.

I realise that this would be difficult in the case of equestrian events where horses do not have passports or the means to repay expenses. In this case the horse should be shot.

Thanks for your time.

Don't know if he appeared on TV but I was there watching by the Mall and saw him run past. He was wearing some blue Shrimpers Trust t-shirt.

Unfortunately he was over on the far side from me (hugging the racing line so he didn't have to run any further than necessary!) so by the time I spotted him I didn't have time for a rendition of the old Barry Harris chant.

I think his time would be around the 5 hour mark, I've no idea if he beat Floella Benjamin but as someone said earlier he was beaten by at least one rhino and a whole host of other fancy dress costumes, including Adrian Chiles running as a bird (as in whatever the bird is on the West Brom badge rather than a transvestite, although someone dressed as Emily Howard from Little Britain did also beat him).

Still a very respectable effort to complete it and all that training in the bars (and McDonalds) of Cardiff last weekend obviously paid off. Well done Barry!

Uproar over the fact that Paula Radcliffe stopped to go to the toilet during the race.

One guy on Five Live this morning said:

"How can I teach my son that it is wrong to spit on the rugby and football pitches, when Paula Radcliffe goes to the toilet infront of hundreds of thousands of people?"

My answers:

i) People have to go to the toilet, nobody has to spit.
ii) Stop your son from playing egg-chasing

Yep and if he hadn't spent a couple of minutes shagging the ladyboy he could have been under 4.45

Synical idiot.

I'd like to see you achieve what Paula has achieved in her career. She's bounced back from her disappointment in Greece to win 2 consecutive marathons. She's a national treasure we should appreciate her.

My mum applied for the Marathon didn't get in, she's doing the North Run though

Anyone know how Adrian Chiles did dressed up as the West Brom mascot?
