I'm based near Elephant and Castle in Central and thinking about getting a season ticket for next season. Anyone else based round this way with one?
I'm wishing i'd got in before the deadline but didn't have the cash

I'm in Highbury but cant afford to live here and have a season card. I tend to do a few home games, a few more over Christmas and try and get to the away games when possibe.

Living in the elephant and castle, your really lucky to be connected with some decent regular direct bus services from "the elephant" / Old Kent road. Ironically, it's harder for me for public transport and I only live in Thurrock!!

Your best bet is to take a short journey on a No #78 that runs to Tower Hill (from fenchurch Street, to southend central) or stay on 2 stops further and get off at Liverpool street for Prittlewell. (im sure you know the best route anyway).

But not to mention the glorious away days..especially the 3 easy points away at Col Utd  !!

you can get direct buses from the old kent road to: Waterloo (#363 or #168), Kings Cross (#63), Marylebone (#453), Euston (#168), London Bridge (#21)

In short, you should defo get a season ticket and follow our rise into the champions league as a loyal supporter!!... for legal reasons..... I would like it to be put out, on record that this post wasn't funded in anyway by the transport for London / Sainsbury's / Lidl / / Tango / or one of the many hair products that Ron Martin curently endorses!!

sadly i've got to move flat next month. i'm from Thurrock originally so i tend to go Fenchurch and walk through the town, old habits die hard, and the two stations are only one bus away. just not sure if i can afford it being a student

Live in Stratford, get to every home game, trains not really any issues from there. I know its easy as its on that line, northern line to Moorgate, walk to liverpool street for the train. Someone near me comes in from Crawley and makes most home games. Do it, wont regret it now, when its freezing winter time you might though!

i've been there enough times when i've not been able to feel anything below my knees. if i can find a way to afford it i'll do it

I've had one for the last dozen years or so.

It's not too bad cost wise for an afternoon's entertainment- just over £20 a match once you've figured in train fares (make sure you've got a railcard) but I'm giving mine up as it's falling on the entertainment front.

What sort of entertainment do you get with a railcard then YB? MK Shrimper has never mentioned it.

Stratford here too! Just a single train to Prittlewell, cant complain!

what railcard?

You mentioned being a student, in which case if you are in full-time education you can get a 16-25 railcard, regardless if you are actually older than that, you just have to provide proof of your status as a student by having someone at the uni/college signing a form. This will entitle you to a third off all rail tickets.

Just to clarify my previous post, if you are a student and you are older than 25 you can still get the young persons railcard as long as you have someone at your institution sign a form to prove you are in full-time education. Full-time is considered as a minimum 15 hours per week, although this year I was only in for 13 hours and they still signed it, so I guess it's flexible. This card entitles you to a third off all tickets, which is a hell of a saving if you use the trains often. I pay £32 return from Portsmouth instead of £50, so just 3 journeys is enough to get my money back from the price of the card. Well worth it.
