Lincoln City are set to discuss the future of manager Keith Alexander and his assistant Gary Simpson at a board meeting on Tuesday evening.

Alexander and Simpson were put "on leave" after meeting with the board at Sincil Bank earlier in the week.

Youth coach John Schofield took charge of the team for the goalless draw against Mansfield Town on Monday.

Chairman Steff Wright told BBC Radio Lincolnshire that a meeting was now to be held earlier than first planned.

Wright earlier said in a statement on the club's official website: "After discussions with board members a meeting has taken place with first-team manager Keith Alexander and assistant manager Gary Simpson.

"The outcome of that meeting is that both Keith Alexander and Gary Simpson are to be put on leave.

"During the interim period John Schofield has been given the responsibilities of pro-football.

"No further statements or comments will be made on this matter until the full board meeting has been concluded."

Lincoln, who have not won for four games, lie 15th in League Two.

Oh joy of joys, that will give him another chance to slate our team! The muppet!

I pity any Rotherham fan (used to Ronnie Moore's football over the past few years) who'll have to put up with becoming the new Towers!

No more Lincoln Towers then.... perhaps they might get somewhere in League Two now! Didn't they offer Alexander a four-year deal but a year or so ago?

Alexander has now been reinstated with his assistant leaving the club.
There was a very strange piece about this on SSN last night where they had the Lincoln chairman on the phone & he gave very roundabout answers to what this was all about. Then Alexander came on & said how happy he was it was all sorted out & how disappointed he was that his assistant had to leave.

I would love to know the truth behind all of this!

Quote[/b] ]The board felt that Simpson was undermining other coaches and wanted him out, whereas Keith didn't. So, the board suspended both of them while they had a think. Then they realised that they'd shagged it up and went back to Keith begging for his mercy.

Trew (The Chairman) resigned because he didn't want to work alongside a bunch of people who initially voted to sack Keith, then turned tail on the whole thing.

Of course this is all alleged and it's quite possible none of this happened at all.

this reminds me of something that happened at SUFC a few years back with Theo Foley and Ronnie Whelan.

After we got thrashed up at Man City Uncle Vic suspended both of them initially and then reinstated Ronnie about a week or so later.
