Regrettably Big Mikey "Lightbulb" Lightfoot from the East Blacks suffered a Heart attack in Newcastle following Saturdays game and is currently still in a Newcastle Hospital. Mike has been to virtually every home and away game this season. I know many of you may not know Lightbulb but please join me in wishing this very loyal supporter a speedy and full recovery, and we hope to see you back at The Hall very soon mate.

Never a good thing to happen especially so far from home. All the best. Hope you're back home in good health soon.

Do not know the guy but he is a fellow shrimper and its upsetting for one of our fans to be ill!

Get well soon Mate all the best!

I've been to quite a few games with Mike and his friends. Only heard of this from a friend earlier and was obviously shocked. Best wishes Mike to a speedy and full recovery.

James

Hi everybody.

I'm Mike and I'm finally out of hospital. Thanks to everybody who've posted best wishes and good luck messages. It was bad enough being beaten 4-0 without collapsing in the hotel lobby on Sunday Morning.

There are a few people I wish to thank , namely Chris and Suzanne who came to the Freeman Hospital with me and stayed while I had emergency surgery and waited while my family came up from Essex. Also , Roger Bacon , a chef at the Swallow hotel in Newcastle who phoned for an ambulance and whose prompt action probably saved my life ,the Paramedics , Professor Keavney who operated on me and all ther staff of Ward 9 who were amazing.

Hope to be back at Roots Hall soon and once again , thanks to all those who've been in touch...it's a little overwhelming.
