This seems to me to be an interesting article. It encapsulates some of the comments made to me by Spanish and French businessmen and women recently, with regard to the future of business in Europe.
I'd be interested to know what other zoners think.

I did read it, but I seemed to miss both the interesting bits and the bits regarding the future of Spanish and French business in Europe. I was going to re-read it, but the Grauniad site caused my internet browser to crash.

You'd be one of those people perhaps who thinks the UK is not really a part of Europe? "Ask not for whom the bell tolls" and all that.

Uk isn't a part of Europe. It's a part of the global economy. Certainly my old company made more money from BRIC and US companies than it did European. When we led the Commonwealth we didn't have to worry about propping up failing countries. Why should we bother now?

Um....we're not.
I think you'll find that the major part of our exports go to the EU,regardless of where your old company made its dosh from.
