Leyton Orient U18s 1-2 Southend United U18s

Southend United's Under-18s gained their first win of the season this morning as they defeated Leyton Orient 2-1. Teddy Nesbitt put Blues' Youths in front in the 27th minute when he chipped Orient goalkeeper Tom Lovelock. Chris Benjamin levelled for Orient after 62 minutes, but James Stevens' penalty - awarded when George Smith was upended - three minutes later gave the young Shrimpers all three points at the Whitbread's Sports Ground in Woodford Green.

You can read a full report from the fixture on the Shrimpers Trust website by clicking here.

The Under-18s are next in action on Saturday, 28th August, when they host Dagenham & Redbridge in the Football League Youth Alliance League South-East Conference in an 11:00am kick-off at Boots & Laces. With the first-team in action the previous night at Bradford City, it would be great to see some Shrimpers supporters at the club's training ground to get behind the stars of tomorrow.

Well done youth team.

Probably more entertaining to watch than the first team. Actually probably should be changed definately
