level of support

Given that we've been written off and almost consigned to relegation for a few months now, the level of support at home and away has been pretty good I think throughout the whole season.

Assuming that a few new fans have been picked up over the last season or two, I thought it likely that attendances would start to drop as our results have gone against us and they realise that we're unlikely to survive.

Do you think that this will happen next season? I can't see us pulling 10k+ early on can you? Maybe we will again if we're pushing for a place, but can't see it straight away.

Good support helps the teams performance and vice versa.

Let's hope we can keep it up.

A lot will depend on if the club make it worthwhile to buy season tickets I'm guessing! If they put up the prices again for L1 football I can see a lot of people voting with their feet which will be a shame!

I think we have a more healthy spport base now compared to when Tilson took over. I'm not expecting 10k plus straight away, more like 7-8k to start with then if we do well than that may creep up. I don't think we'll see the 3-4k from a few years ago!

think it'll be harder for these people to walk away now after a couple of seasons.

Let's hope we have some consistent attendances. Be good all round.

Three and a half years ago our average gate was around the four thousand mark, after two promotions and a season in the championship average gates about nine thousand (any stattos please correct I only guessing) The question is How many new Hardcore supporters have we gained. I think we will be getting about five and a half /six thousnd in for first home games, Maybe a little lower. I expect about three thousand season ticket holders(depending on prices). I hope I wrong but I will ask the bods who sit round me as i sure their new supporters and would bet they wont renew next season (if we go down) If we have a sticky start to next season attendances could drop back to pre-tilson numbers

Cant see us getting under 6,500 no matter what happens.

I got my first season ticket last season and will certainly be getting one next year. Im hardly hardcore, never do away games etc but relegation isnt putting me off and hopefully wont put too many others off either.

Completely agree, I dont think our home support will drop dramatically at all.

I know a few recent converts.. and all of them are totally unbothered what league we play in , they will be back..

I have been a seaso for three years but been watching SUFC for longer! I think our support has been fantastic these past few years! The amount of people who travelled to Plymouth on sat was amazing! Never stopped cheering and chanting! You could see how much the team meant to the fans by the amount of people who stayed to clap after the final whistle! I had a relatively short journey (from Portsmouth) compared to coming from Essex and was impressed by every fan who made their way down!

UTB!

i have been a season ticket holder for 4 years and go to as many away games as i can afford. all we need is to make some noise at the hall. our ground is dead. its only the little block in the corner of the west that makes any decent noise but away games i often come back without a voice. that will be the only positive about going down is the teracing, we make so much noise in them.
