I have already voiced my opinion that i believe both Ricketts and Southend supporters are to blame but to try to get boyfrombrazil closed down...a loyal website to the community which has existed for years goes a bit too far.

Goes a bit too far like the Southend supporters who have labelled us 'northern w*nkers' 'northern c*ts' 'f*cking northern monkeys' and 'northern f*cking liars'.

Does not help your case when you are claiming not to be racist, ignorant and prejudice eh?

Next time when your trying to clear your name you might want to try not make yourself sound like ignorant chavs.

For what its worth i don't think any racist abuse was hurled at Ricketts, but i do believe extreme abuse was hurled at him and he was perfectly justified in retaliating.

I think we should put the current problems between our clubs aside otherwise it will lead to something unfortunate and nasty shortly that no Bradford fan or Southend fan wants.

Our management staff, Todd included and your management staff desperately need to shake hands on this one and make friends because Yorkshiremen can hold grudges for a very long time

I don't deny we have chavs. I never called you chavs, many Bradford fans have but i have not and i have said its hardly helping your case.

By your logic the higher the I.Q the longer you can hold grudges, i have an I.Q of 127 so by your argument i can hold a grudge longer than any ordinary person.

Extreme abuse you say? Well thats part of football, the whole point of all these posts about racism is it didn't happen. We as supporters are defending our club and fans against false claims that racist abuse was uttered towards an opposing player. No-one is deining abuse from both parties but Southend fans are defending ourselves against unjustified claims of racist abuse. It's as simple as that. All we are asking is Donavon Ricketts comes clean and admits he was mistaken. He would get more respect if he did.

The general abuse you mention regarding 'Northern Monkeys', Flat Caps' etc we give to any team North of the Watford Gap.

What we object to is being labelled as racist by a GK who has been stupid by reacting to fans on the wind up. We are not saying you GK hasn't ben abused - in the sense that any footballer/ referee hasn't been abused by being called a ****** but we as SUFC fans object to be labelled racist. Southend United has always been a family club and has in recent years been very succesful at attracting younger fans. For Editors of websites such as BfB to be publishing such blatant untruths as FACT is disgraceful. All we want is a full and frank apology.

As I mentioned before Southend supporters are in general mild mannered and I hope from reading the threads unrelated to the Bradford game on this message board you can see this. But when our well earned 'Family friendly' reputation is sullied in the national press due to your foolish GK and your ignorant Manager(who realy should sort his son out before he starts having a go at us!!!) I think we are entitled to vent our anger at poorly written editorials.

A full apology onthe front page of BfB will negate the need for any legal action.

Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season hope your GK doesn't cost you any more points this season because if he hadn't been such an idiot you would have had all 3 pionts on Saturday!

Aye, i dont believe he suffered racial abuse but nobody has ever seen Ricketts react in that way, he is a layed back guy and perhaps the most steady headed member of our squad.

I don't believe Southend supporters to be racist and i doubt other Bradford fans do despite claims, most of it has become a non issue on Bradford boards and some are even blaming ricketts.

However Bradford fans have recieved a lot of anti-northern prejudice which has left a bitter taste more than anything else.

The comments of 'Dave the Shrimper' only serve to increase the resentment towards Southend fans....i would back an apology to Southend United FC but there will always be serious opposition to those with anti-northern prejudices which is in essence a form of racism in itself.

That's probably the most balanced post on this issue so far, Well Done.

The reason Ricketts has probably never reacted that way before is because he has never feigned injury before, He has probably never sworn at an opposing palyer as he walked injured infront of the home fans. He has probably never had 500+ people calling him every abusive word under the sun(nothing rascist mind!).

But in the end his actions caused the normally quiet(ask any previous visitors to the hall, we're usually like door mice!) SUFC fans to react the way they did. It's understandable after the abuse he was given to give it the old 1-0 finger gesture, that could be construed as 'Banter' but the 'up yours' one was going too far. If it had been Milwall or Cardiff would he have done it?! No, only because he thought the officials weren't looking and he thought our fans wouldn't run and tw&t him ala Stoke, your northern frneds

The other day this old southern lady wearing a southend shirt tried to drive her car through the riot zone so i overturned her car and rolled it down a big steep hill...i showed her, stupid b*tch she wont try that again

Then this southern bloke with a stupid cockney accent asked me the way to the supermarket....so i threw him through a glass window and had a pee on him.  

Then me and my gang broke into Netto's and stole all their bananas for our monkey gang, then we started to pick flees out of each others hair...but then this stupid cow with an essex accent started walking towards us so we threw our faeces at her  

Then this Col******r United fan asked us the way to Matalan so we said.........'Matalan is direcectly down the high street on the left, good day sir and welcome to Bradford, your fans are always so good when they come here'

Donovan is pretty cool and pretty outgoing....as he put it he plays for Jamaica regularly and has had people in the stand behind him with visible guns before. Hence the reason nothing normally phases him, if those Stoke fans had ran out and tried to hit him he would have probably done something incredibly cool like snapping off a goalpoast and fighting off the fans with it
