Because we have no other option.....

Just like there was no one who wanted to buy my house till it was up for sale

Or because someone made me an offer which couldn't benefit me.

MARTIN OUT!!!!!!!!!!!

Using the analogy of selling and finding a buyer for your house at market price with no debts and selling a second division football club losing a reported 100k a month is rather a pointless one to make. The two are not comparable in any way shape or form.

When are people going to wake up and realise that no amount of chanting 'Martin out' at matches or protesting is going to make a blind bit of difference. By all means if you want to carry on wasting your breath go ahead. No skin off my nose but I really don't understand why anyone would think that it would.

He's not going to leave anytime soon and there's no money rich Cowling willing to come in and buy him out and take on the accruing debts and what's more there's nothing you or I or any other supporter can do about that I'm afraid. It's something we have to take on the chin, clench our collective butt cheeks and hope for the best for the club.

I will certainly not back him, even if the ground is built. The man is a shark, who put the asset of the ground [Roots Hall],into one of his companies.Supposedly acquiring it for much less than market value !! The football club has zero assets, apart from saleable player. His business ethic is poor.So please tell me why I and many others should support and trust him ? My support is SUFC,not some egotistical local businessmen.

Your probably right mate, but nice to see the ******* squirm in front of opposing teams directors, don't make it easy for the worm.

some of you guys should look at the facts,in the first place ron martin saved the club no one ekse has come foward with a sensible plan as i see it. yes the stadium is taking for ever, did not the council hold us up, ithink rm is realy trying for the good of the club, the man cant fund it all on his own he needs help, trouble is i cant see anyone out there.so he owns roots but he does not charge rent i say think before you abuse him unless you have the answere to our plight

For the last thirty years the song has stayed the same just the names have changed. In the early eighties it was 'AJ out!.'
After that it was 'VJ out!.' Now it is 'RM out!.' Anyone spot the trend?

When AJ was in charge the fans thought someone/anyone else would be better. They thought the same of VJ and now have transferred their venom to RM.

The grass is not always greener. A change of owner does not guarantee better days. For me, RM has been the one most likely to get the new stadium and is the first to get plans passed. We all accept that it is at the cost of RH but what other way would we be able to finance the move?

Surely the last thirty years must tell us something and all those so adamant that RM should go ought to think about who we may get instead. Its time for supporters to get behind the club and chairman, stop looking for the messiah and do all we can to see us through theses troubled waters.

There are some great posters on this forum and collectively I am sure ideas can be formulated that help our club to progress. Its time to replace negativity with positive action so we can all feel an integral part of our club. Just look at the achievements of those dedicated fans that gave us RH in the first place. If they can do so much so can we.

AJ robbed the Xmas club money for personal gain, VJ sold most of the South Bank for personal gain, now RM wants to sell off what's left for personal gain.

You are right I do spot a trend.

Ron sold SUFCs vastly inflated assets years ago to pay off the debts which VJ racked up and then has been borrowing against them for several years to prop the club up hence the debt being cleared and then going back up ever since.

IIRC the most aggresive chairman out campaign was against the Rubins which even got reported in the press as anti semetic chanting, the fans got their way pretty rapidly in that instance, Mark and Tony passed the club onto Anton Johnson who took the club to the brink of bankruptcy in 18 months. just highlighting the xmas club money is a misrepresentitive

We have discussed this before, and again what is wrong with looking for options.

Its this acceptance that because we dont know of any other options we just accept what we have that is most bizarre.

Is there another option ? The answer is we dont know, not there isnt.

Im sure 10 years ago Man City wouldnt have believed they would be spending hundreds of millions of pounds on players and winning the league.

Getting an owner like that is clearly not going to happen to us, that doesnt mean its totally impossible someone else wouldnt be interested if the club became available.

The sticking point isnt whether there is a possible buyer, but the fact Ron has tied himself here with debts that he cant get out.

I don't think the council have held the new stadium plans up at all. The original plans were called in by the government for a public enquiry, but that was always going to happen as the plans included retail development.

As far as I can tell the new ground has not got current valid planning permission, but thats not the councils fault.

Indeed the council agreed the stadium and have behind it, not sure what anyone would think the hold up is with them.

The reason it hasnt begun is because of money and Ron's inability to finance the project he committed us to.

The finance for FF is and has been in place for a long time, the problems are pizza man etc s106's appointing a contractor, hopefully we will get some answers from the Q&A tomorrow evening

Problem being we have already done at least £5m of that. Does that leave us enough in the Sainsbury pot, to complete the 3 sided monstrosity?

Why havent the CPO's been used to get the properties ?

If finance is in place how comes we submitted a plan to only build 75% of the stadium ?
