Sorry GS don't want to turn this into a slanging match, but perhaps you didn't see the man play for us, he saved us from the drop almost alone a couple of seasons back, and we wouldnot be in the position we are to day in The Championship without his goals.

No one knows the true story re his attitude, perhaps a reward for his goals should have been a priority at Southend, but Tilson decided he wasnot the best option, so we have to accept his judgement, alas players he has bought since except Freddy have proved unacceptable, I still follow LC progress, but cannot understand why everyone has a go at him, we have alot to thank him for, otherwise you may now be writing about our game coming up against Grays or Kidderminster in the Conference league, or heaven forbid a lower league !!!!!

If your comment was tongue in cheek then I have the wrong end of the stick and apologise, however if you didn't see the player at RH, then perhaps judgement should be reserved and be thankful for the time he spent at the mecca of football

True in many ways. Although I can't see any decent Championship club giving him a chance to be honest. I saw him play for us a good few times (the away trip at Carlisle being his pinnacle in my eyes when he basically won us that game single-handedly) so know full well what he's capable of. I just find it strange that each time his contract is due to expire he swallows all his agent's flannel. Fred maybe hasn't performed at Championship level consistently as we hoped he would, one of the reasons being the step up from the lower leagues. If he's been inconsistent, Leon probably would find it even more of a struggle.
