the refs committee sent its three biggest ******* down to "tiny" Roots Hall hoping no-one would notice. The idiots were duly sussed out by the "small" crowd of ten and half thousand and as the decisions got worse and worse the pressure from the up close Shrimpers blew the officials last resemblance of competence and control. Leicester City of the Walker Stadium and Manderics millions were duly gifted the game with an offside goal and allowed to kill the game with the usual chat and prolonged injury capers.
It didn't matter cos the Blues continued to play with pride and passion and good passing football and chased a result when down to ten men after the super useless ref had sent Foran off for an innnocuos tired mistimed tackle that constituted a second yellow cos some Leicester player had done some rolling around earlier. Maher hobbled on after surviving another "tackle" and Freddy kept mixing it. King Freddy that is.
Like this the Blues seem unstoppable, like the second half at Hillsboro, just showing the opposition what they can really do and every Shrimper twenty quid is really being fought for.
A bad week for the club with the shenanigans off the pitch but out there on the green of Roots Hall everything that is good in football. The future is uncertain but the Shrimpers have it all, everything that really counts.
Pride and passion.
2-2
At full-time the ref and his linesmen went and stood in the centre circle - like rabbits in the headlights, paralysed and apparently scared. It was almost as if they were milking the boos and awaiting their security escort like stars on the red carpet.
What can you say about Freddy Eastwood - absolute magic - second goal came from him as well. The first, made a half yard from no-where, cast a spell on the keeper and pinged it in at the near post. Enjoy.
JCR - Jamal is on his game and tough. How does he look so unruffled by it all.
Richie Foran - less from his head and less in space. Looks short of endurance .
Now hes got himself a rest.
McCormack - watching him warming up at half time thought he was still not fit but once on was immense
Gower and Maher got a good grip of possession second half.
Hunt and Francis - they can play - but can they defend.
Sodje and Clarke - looking at the legitimate goal conceded it seems theres still to many unanswered questions when the ball gets in the box - and maybe Darryl has some part in that -
Strange atmosphere at half-time - teetering on the edge of unexpected resignation only being held together by all the other results being favourable to us - and then ten minutes later Freddy puts it all square and the place is electric.
