I'm confused...what about the money owed to the IR which resulted in Leeds getting a winding up order? None of these debts are preferential creditors so surely with the club going into administration these debts are going to be pretty much written off anyway.

i was just emailed it... thought it made for interesting reading as they seem pretty sure.

obviously the major issue was with the IR but if i was the DJ guy i would be ****ed off!

am i correct in saying that when Hornchurch and Canvey went kapoot, they got chucked back to the Essex Senior league??

Leeds... say hello to the West Yorks Senior league

Canvey elected to withdraw from the Conference as they felt that they were unable to compete financially at that level. At no stage did they go into administration. The league actually allowed them back in at Rymans 1 level which iirc was a league higher than they fancied !

Hornchurch went into liquidation they are no more. The team in the Eseex senior league is AFC Hornchurch, legally completely unrelated.....

My understanding of Football administration (very limited mind you) is that, unlike "normal administration" , in order to continue as a football club, all footballing debts must be paid off so basically anyone else can go whistle because if you could pay both lots off you would not be in trouble in the first place.

This whole administration thing needs a good look at by the league, Perhaps they ought to do an annual solvency audit for each club and if the club looks like they are owing (as opposed to borrowing) more than their income (or the assets outweigh the liabilities, the league could enforce a transfer emargo and wage cap ? whilst the club would probably be relegated, they would not go bust, and less people would get screwed by unscrupulous buisnessmen
