Leeds away

Anyone know when the ticket office will start selling Leeds away tickets?

I am guessing we will only get the smaller corner allocation as they won't want to shell out up front for 7,000 odd tickets to get the full quota for behind the goal (in fact, so far I think only Sunderland have asked for these seats, despite "bigger" teams such as Norwich & Wolves having made the trip to Elland Rd).

This is going to be a game everyone will probably want to go to (I've already shelled out for a flash Leeds hotel for me & the Mrs) & I've got no wish to have to put on a fake Yorkshire accent & brave the home end!

i'm hoping to go to round off halfterm incorperating a visit to a few friends and my god parents etc

apparently its a pretty scary place to go

but bring it on

Leeds is a Hole.

If Slough is deserving of a bombing, Leeds deserves to be completely eradicated and all memories of the place erased.

Elland Road is a dump and people who havent been will be disappointed with it... The away corner is cramped too with zero leg room (and i'm 5ft2!!)

I think the full allocation behind the goal is nearly 4,000 tickets and the corner is something like 1,800.  But as you say to get more than 1,800 tickets I think Southend will have to pay up front for the extra 2,200.

If we only ask for 1,800 there will be a good chance that most of these will go to Season Ticket holders.

Lets hope we ask for the full allocation.

Elland Road (yellow seats in the corner are for away fans, which can be extended behind the goal if requested)

the club will stump up for extra seats if we demand them.. however i doubt leeds will request them to be paid for upfront, they aren't going to anywhere near sell out and they would rather get a few hundred away fans in than charge for loads and not sell any

I think you will find that Leeds demand payment in advance for any extra tickets above the initial 1,800 allocation.  That is why even clubs like Wolves only take up the 1,800 allocation because they away do not want the risk of not selling 4,000 tickets.

Just found out that even Birmingham City have only requested 1,700 tickets for Leeds away this Saturday.  I can't see Southend requesting more than the 1,700 allocation.

Also just seen the Leeds away ticket prices £26 Adults & £15 Concessions does not look like any child tickets either. So if Southend have to buy the extra 2,200 tickets it may cost £57,200 up front

Can anyone answer glasgow's original question though? Do we have a timescale for ticket sales?

I have been thinking just the same thing, as I am planning to go up for the weekend and meet up with an old uni friend who I've not seen for years on the Saturday night. I will need to book up a hotel, so do I wait to be certain of a ticket, or go ahead and book now?

I hope the tickets aren't all taken up by STH's, and surely they won't be, as the largest crowd we've had away so far is just under 2000, and none of them have been STH only. Yes, I know it's going to be popular, but for some people the cost and the distance might put them off...

Don't worry Southampton Shrimper. If you don't get a ticket I will use the hotel room!!

I spent the best three years of my life there.
However Leeds being one of my most hated teams I refused to set foot in the hell that was Elland Road.
ps Leeds fans are the scummiest fans alive bar none.

Dunno how much you know about Leeds, but the whole of it is scum...!

*Stereotype alert* But Leeds fans are the most scummy fans in this country.. It is a shame that the club saved itself when Ridsdale tried to take it down with him as I certainly would not have shed a tear if that had happened!

This is a game where I personally wouldn't wear colours and it has been a long time since thought that about an SUFC game.

I guess judging by how some people have interpreted what RM said in an interview the other day as SUFC are currently just about living beyond their means but in an ideal world surely this would be the one game where the club should bite the bullet, stump up the cash up front for the additional allocation and then put on subsidised or free travel to ensure there's 4,000 rabid Shrimpers cheering them on in what, judigng by the current table, could be a highly important game.

I guess though, now we're Championship again, things like that just won't happen
