Lee Barnard - 20+ in a season

Ayrshire Blue

The Custard Splat
Had a frustrating time over easter with being on the bench after injury.

Since he joined we haven't lost a league game when he has played.
7 goals in 9 starts is also very impressive

could defenetly get 20+ in a full season with us.

definitely think barney is capable of 20+ goals, with walker chipping in with 15.

Well 6, the one against Walsall Im claiming.

I do like him and think 15-20 goals at this level would be achieveable if he can stay fit.

However if (big if) we go up Im not so sure he will get many as he is a player who relies on us creating the chances and how many we will create in the Championship Im not sure.

at least 4 of the goals Barnard has scored in the six yard box his two goals at Crewe were completly different goals.

I think he is more than capable of at least 10-15 in the Championship, maybe not 20

Barnard has been a fantastic signing. I was a bit unsure when we first signed him going on previous times I've seen him play, but boy his been good since his come in.

Him and Walker look real fantastic prospects, fair play to Tilly, Brush and Martin for persuing them for so long. I can understand why.

I think he's been the difference between us before and after Christmas. His awareness to get into space, his off the ball running, his tracking back, his antagonistic streak that gets defenders to make mistakes...

Just looks like a real professional in my eyes. We weren't the same when we lost him and had Morgan and McDonald up front and reverted to the same old problems. He just this ability to be in the right place at the right time

Also, Gower's goal was partly made because of the runs Walker and Barnard made outside the box to drag defenders away. Great forward play.

i have always been a big fan of barnard even before he joined us. If you look at the clubs he has played for previous they have never been great passing teams and when you look at the club barnard was bought up as a player they play some of the most attractive football in the country on their day.
So i think this is why barnard has been so good for us, we dont just lump the balll up to him all the time and we give him a chance to play with his feet, i mean on our day we are probably the best footballing side in this league, alongside swansea.
He is quite similar to billy sharp in that alot of his goals will come from inside the penalty area and probably inside the 6 yard box, but why do we care, a goal is a goal right...?

Exactly, its the fox in the box we need!
