with results not going our way I think its now time to build for next season.
Play the youths Steve and give them experience in preparation for next season

League Two champions 2010/2011

Agree, only problem being we aint down yet and could still stay up. If we do go down, throwing too many in may backfire.

My opinions on an individual basis is:

Herd must stay in the team and be our first choice left back all through pre season, that will give him experience and confidence.

O'Keefe, not had much of a chance...maybe throw him in, if and when we are relegated to earn a crack.

Crawford is raw and hungry, worth a start but only if already down. Half hour stints and a pre season with first team will do him good.

Bentley, again if relegated - why not throw in him for a couple of games.

Spencer still young and in my opinion must be rewarded with a two year deal, he looks a player to me and works hard.

Patterson also young and needs game time.

We will only start building for the new season one week after it has started, let alone now!!

I refuse to give up hope on our survival, until it becomes mathematically impossible to survive.
I will continue to be fully behind the team right up until the end, and I still believe that we can have the quality to stay up, but we need to be much more positive than we currently are, and we need to play like we did in the second half of today's game, but with more passion, more belief, and for the whole match, instead of one half.
We can stay up, and I refuse to say that we are doomed to relegation, until it's mathematically impossible for us to stay up.
UTB!

League 2 is a difficult league. Throwing in players who were not ready or not good enough for League 1 will not get you promoted. Last time we were there we got promoted with a team who mainly came from non league rather than the reserves from league 1.

If we go down, we would need to start by seeing which of our best players we can keep - we dont want a situation where we lose a Grant or Francis in August. We would also need to shed some of the chaff (no mention of names until we are definetly down, but there are at least 3 non loanee players in our squad who would struggle in any division in the football league, some of whom are out of contract)

We then need to try and build a team - lets try and get 2 centre backs and some strikers who can play with each other, a goalscorer (someone young with a bit of proven in the conference - as Brentford did with Charlie Mac) etc. Make sure we have a set piece taker or two. Plenty of muscle is required in League 2 - a Bentley type is useful.

And then we need to get momentum - we've been on a downward spiral (despite what anyone says!) for 3 or 4 years now. We would need to start well - get a few wins under our belt, pay the staff on time, and starting the build of the Sainsburys Dome would help.
