Laurent and Freedman?

dashman

Dash De Shrimper
Could Laurent & Freedman gel as the best strike force for us right now???

IMHO both are a class act and with HRK & Betsy wide I can see it all working......or am I deluded!? Spare the jokes!

Best strike force for us would be.....................?

I would suggest, for the first time in recent years, that Tilly has a huge problem - He has 4 strikers who are currently, when all fit, playing exceptionally well, and when Barney or Freedman are fit, don't expect them to walk straight back into the team.

Laurent was awesome last night, but since he has been playing regularly, Revs has been top notch, and if he could just net a couple more goals, he would be outstanding.

It's certainly better than over the last couple of seasons when all we have been concerned about is which of our strikers could actually score, let alone which 2 we can leave out!

I wouldn't be able to drop Laurent or Revell atm, they both worked their socks off last night and created so many chances. Even though Barnard and Freedman are just as good. I wouldn't like to be doing the choosing between them if all four were fit.

We've got really good competition for places up front now.
Dougie and Barney know that they wont just walk back in the team and on last nights showing they are going to have to work bloody hard to get back in.

on yesterday's game i would hope both revelle and Laurent would be fit to start on saturday. could not fault their work rate, Revelle should of got motm outstanding..... !

I thought that Barny and Freedman would be a great partnership but they have been injured and have allowed Walker, Revell and Laurent a chance and I believe that Laurent has impressed alot, especially against Leeds, Revell has shown his desire to work and run for the team. Walker has not impressed me at all. I think that Freedmna will be even more hungry after missing the last few weeks and the Leeds game, so he will be up for it. Therefore, it is either Freedman and Revell or Freedman and Laurent against Col Ewe and I believe that it must be the later.

I cant see past Freedman and Barney when fully fit.

Revell works hard and will always be popular because of that but his strike record is pretty poor and it will always be an issue. Laurent I think is a class act and something totally different but I cant see him getting ahead of either Barney or Freedman.

I AM not sure dash what do you think???

;)

For me, Freedman/Laurent would be the best pairing. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not dissing Barny and Rev's - it's a close-run thing for me.

Barnard has a great habit of scoring the first goal of a match and we've never lost when he's done that. He also has has scoring rate slightly better than 1 every 2 games for us.

Freedman bring experience and goals.

Larent has pace, power and ability on the ball.

If fit I'd start with Barny/Freedman with Laurent on the bench, similar to how we used Eastwood, Goater and Gray when all 3 were fit.

Now we don't have to play a half fit player as we have a viable alternative.

Barney's like a talisman for us, still would rather he played if available whether he has to be subbed off or not. Happy for Laurent and Rev to hold the front line on Saturday - Dean Gerken won't have a clue what to make of either of them!

I said about this in another thread a few days ago, how Freedman could do what Revell has done for us service wise but only 5 times better, he might not have the energy to work as hard for as long but for 70 mins it could be brilliant. Personally for now i would stick with Revell & Laurent, then bring Freedman off the bench for Rev's. Where this leaves Barney for now i dont know

Unlike the rest of the team, its amazing that all 4 players belong to the club and we're not thinking about what we will do when they leave.

Tough choice but when fully fit, I would go for Dougie and Barnard whilst we really push Laurent along with some extensive fitness training. Dougie showed in his first few games for us what a class player he really is. Signing of the season in my eyes. Barnard's scoring record is probably just as good, if not better than Eastwoods and is a real goal poacher. Its a nice problem to have and each player knows they have to play well, and score some goals to stay in the team.
