Devil's Advocate
this information has just appeared on our internal chat system.

We have been advised that work to disable and remove the WWII bomb in East London is expected to continue into this afternoon. Unfortunately a time limit for completion of the works cannot be given due the unpredictable nature of the work being undertaken.

This means that the safety cordon preventing c2c from operating a full service is still in place; therefore we will continue to operate a severely restricted service until further notice.

We would like to advise customers, where possible, not to travel and for those that have travelled with us this morning, please expect further severe disruption to services this afternoon and this evening. National Express East Anglia will continue to accept c2c tickets.

Please accept our apologies for the effect this is having on your journey plans today.

So glad I am working from home.

Well I left my car at Rayleigh so needed to go back on that line anyway. Cannot believe how long its taken though!

I guess they can take as long as they like as long as nobody gets injured in the process.

To be taking this long probably means all is not as simple as the usual UXBs found.

For once we can't blame the railways. As Bob_C say's far better for it to take longer than have people injured!

but this is the whole point people complain about the railways and engineering works its all for customer safety!!! some people need to know that.

I would like to see Germany kicked out of Euro 2008 for this outrage.

If this turns out to be one of Oscar Schindlers dud munitions I will be very upset.
