lack of goals is worrying.

390 minutes of 1st team action have achieved 2 goals 1 courtesy of the millwall keeper and clarkes goalmouth scramble.

early days i know but the forwards seem incapable of hitting the onion bag.

can anyone explain the point in signing furlong?

bring back barrington belgrave.

To give us experience and a physical presence.

We have a lack of goals but its not our strikers at fault, if we dont ever give them the ball within 25 yards of goal they wont score.

Barnards header aside it was hardly our strikers wasting chances that was the cause...

Personally thought Revell did really well last night and came close on two occassions. Barnard only had one decent chance and it was cleared off the line.

Harding had an absolute pile driver of a shot and Clarkey was also unlucky. I think last night there must have a bad juxtaposition between Saturn and Aquarius or something, it was just fated not to be.

Until the red card last night we were on top and looked like scoring Harding was unlucky with that volley, just a bit too high for him.

i also thought we were on top until the sending of, you said Harding was unlucky I thought Revell was when he hit the post

Bit optimistic tbh, we've just started, we definitely need a proven striker alongside barnard that way the goals will be rolling in

Remember that reserve team game back in 2001 when Belgrave was coming back from injury? 11,000 Shrimpers all packed in to watch him play and he scored 6!

i really do like the look of a revell-barny partnership, but i just cant see them banging 30-40 goals between them. i know walkers is only young, but theres no way he'll score a lot and as for furlong, well, from where i was sitting at the millwall game, everytime he ran by, all you could here was creak, creak, creak. il be surprised if he scores 5 goals.

But our strikers didnt bag loads of goals last year and we still got into the play offs. What we really need is a winger who will get us 10 goals like Gower did last year and for the central midfield pairing to be getting 15+ goals between them. Sadly, I cant see either happening and that is why a midtable finish has to be our target for this year

hence why i've said in prevoius posts, we need an attacking mid and pacey forward.

Would say we have enough strikers. players like revell just need to get some games under there belt. Im sure him and barnard can get 30 odd between them in a season

We were very lucky with the amount of goals we scored from midfield last season, I can't remember off the top of my head another occasion when we had 3 midfielders scoring about 10 goals each.

Barney will alwatys end up getting some .... walker will hit a good patch, Revell will get some, Scannell has an eye for goal, Betsy can finish, Grant and Moussa will start getting a taste, Clarke and Barrett are good at corners, Francis shopuld be good for a couple, Harding loves it, Mildenhall likes to get up for corners........ ...... Harrold got one for the reserves,
