THE SEVENTIES NORTH BANK

Life President⭐⭐🦐
Yes, Kevin Maher is back at the club coaching the youth for one day a week. His proper job is still at Chelmsford City, but who knows, I hope this leads to him coming back full time. He absolutely loves the club, and you know he will give it everything, whatever job he is given. He's just a really nice bloke as well, which always helps.

Thought he was doing this already?

He's been a support coach for a short time before, a while back, then parted with Southend. But now he's officially been taken on part time. Hopefully leading to a full time contract. He will also watch the youth matches when things don't clash with his Chelmsford role.

He was back right at the start of pre season wasn't he.........old news I'm afraid

Only broke today, so not old news. He came in before to help RD, and to help himself with his coaching, on a no pay basis from what I heard, but now he is officially to be paid for one day a week. 10 years playing for Southend, not many have done that in the modern game. Surely they can find a full time roll for him.

At the start of his career - by the end of it he had won over all but the thickest supporters. We were lucky to have him as long as we did.

We were lucky to have him for the final 5 years or so of his Southend career but unlucky to have him for the first 5 years or so of his Southend career.
