The post-match interview with him is quite interesting. He's very honest about his performances before today and thanks the manager and fans for sticking by him.

He played well today I thought, worked really really hard (often the target of long balls and so a slightly different role) and he linked up some good play and took his goal well. We all know that an in form Hurst can return a lot of assists and goals, so let's hope he kicks on.

Payne really occupied the centre backs along with Weston and Coulthirst and so I think their full-backs were drawn in and it gave Hurst a bit more space. Sometimes he's a victim of getting marked out of the game and not having attackers close enough to link up.

Always wanted him in the team as dont see how a player who clearly is one of our best players is going to turn his form around sitting on the bench.

Great to see him get a goal and hopefully he will get a boost and build from it as he is vital to our promotion chances.

Top performance at York yesterday by Hurst. Hard working and really glad to see him get his goal. His celebration spoke volumes.

He didn't just lash at the ball either. He dragged it away from the keepers out stretched arm, made space then put the ball in the net. Bit of quality there. He may drop form but it only takes 10 seconds of magic from Hurst out of the blue to get the goal

I think he was doing himself down at the beginning of the season. Undoubtedly one of the most capable players in the team but beating himself up because he hadn't had a goal on an assist in the first 4 games!!!

I hope this goal gives him a bit of belief back!

Terrific skill for the goal.

Most players would have just hit it, and it would have hit the keeper, bounced away and the chance would be gone.

Or a keeper error!

Mind you, he took it well.
